Ever since I installed my BC coil overs the steering has become some what loose or soft. I know that I had to install shorter end links in the back but do the fronts need to be shorter as well? (I'm still using the ones that came with the traction bars for a un-lowered srt4) I'm pretty stumped as to whats causing this steering change. Also I didn't notice before i got my alignment that my front camber plates weren't both set to zero, yet the shop still aligned my car to -1 without using them. Is that bad?

the front endlinks can't be shorter or the swaybar would hit the control arm. If they got the camber dialed in without the camber plates, great. That's totally fine for a non-performance situation. The slotted clevis bolt holes did their job here. I'm thinking your preload with the traction bars isn't right and that may be causing the problem.
Well the only thing that makes me have second thoughts about the bars is there not directly connected to the steering system therefore they only move in an up and down motion not side to side. My friend thinks its because the coil overs are less stiff and more flexible than the stock suspension and this is why theres more play with the steering wheel. Although I've never ridden in a SRT w/CO to compare. Would turning up the tire pressure in the front tires help. MY tires say max 50psi and their at 35psi now.
The reason I think the preload may be odd is that when the car is moving you may be getting pressure applied to the control arms and when the bushings flex you get a change in toe. This can make the steering feel change a great deal.
I have the Bwoody traction bars and my BC coilovers should arrive today. I hope I dont get this problem. I did specify that my car was lowered when I ordered the traction bars though.

Well will different endlinks fix this problem like the ones they reccomend for a lowered car?
EDIT: nevermind I just called Bwoody and they said different bolts won't affect the handling. It just gives you more clearance for the traction bars although I'm not that low that I really need the extra clearance. So I guess I either have to remove the peace entirely or learn to live with it.

no, not on the steering system itself, but on the control arm bushings. It would have to be really extreme to actually be causing any damage. I just can't think of what may have any affect in this other than some binding/loading that wasn't there before the drop, except of course the alignment which you said was said was correct. Is there another BC/K-Sport/Megan SRT-4 in the area that you can test drive to see if it has the same kind of feel?
I have the h-brace traction bars and the BC coilovers on mine and I never noticed any difference in steering feel.

Sitting at the paint shop. Now I just have to wait.
I don't believe that I did that when I installed them.
Yeah I started to install them last night after work and it seems as if the traction bars have no affect on them. I hope to finish up the install tonight and then get the car aligned next week.
