Default Ceramic vs metallic pads

ok im in the market for new brake pads (metal on metal in the rear!!) and possibly rotors(have to check the condition there in) should i go ceramic or metallic? the only thing i know as of now is that the ceramic work better the hotter they get and they dissipate heat faster..since i dont live at the track i dont see me getting ceramic..but im open for suggestions oh and i dont want hawk pads because ive had them before on my old neon and they sqeak and you get alot of brake dust build up..(short life span too)but the performance was great. The pads im seeing range from 25-50 dollars, which is way better than the $65 (rear) and $78(front) just for an oem replacement the dealer wanted..and they want $90 for each rotor oem!!

A lot of people recommend R1 concepts rotors from ebay.

And as far as OEM pads, I got a front set for $30 shipped from a guy that sells new OEM parts. I don't remember the dudes name though...

OE pads are more like 100+ for a set. The value line is more along the lines of the prices the OP was quoted. OE rotors list for 83 each for the fronts, 70 for the rears. You don't need OE rotors but just get smooth or at most slotted rotors.
