Well my car has been down for like a month due to wheel bearing/hub, axle, and brake issue and I just found something else.. where the clips go where the brake pads sit, one side is shaved down. How this happened I have no idea but I was wondering where the cheapest place is to get legit caliper brackets? I found a website and I was wondering if you would trust this one. 2003-2005 Dodge Neon Brake Caliper Carrier - Brake - A1 Cardone 03-05 Neon Brake Caliper Carrier - 1942-05230584 - PartsGeek
Here is a pic of the caliper bracket. ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Rockauto has them for ~$26. Never heard of partsgeek. I would pony the extra buck or two to get them from rockauto.
As for using OEM or not... That is a gamble that you have to deal with. IMO using OEM on mission critical parts is not a bad choice. Brakes especially. Granted the aftermarket is very good at replacement parts, but sometimes they just don't cut the mustard. IMO I would source an OEM bracket from one of these vehicles (Rockauto cross reference): CHRYSLER PT CRUISER (GT Turbo) (2003 - 2009) DODGE NEON (2003 - 2005) If no luck then get the A1 Cardone part. |

It happens when a worn bearing allows the hub to tilt a bit and the brake rotor to rub the bracket. imo, the bracket doesn't look too bad and can probably be used as is. Generally its not a huge deal. I think one on my car had been rubbed on by the rotor.

As long as they're the right ones, I can't imagine why there'd be an issue. They won't be Red, if that matters
