how is awd out of the question for price? a regular wrx goes for what, 25k? maybe dodge should just consider it a little harder.
how long is the caliber going to be the platform in which they use for the srt4? how has it sold?
I hope they move away from it with a quickness!
The 2008 WRX is rated at 228 hp, that's flywheel. That is less hp than the average SRT4 put down to the wheels, AND the WRX being AWD will be even more parasitic of that horsepower.
Also, you can about guess the next SRT-4 will start out around 24K just as I said earlier. AWD is going to push that price up several thousand.
And as someone else stated, Dodge has not been in the AWD performance market except for one vehicle, and that is the Grand Cherokee SRT-8. You can't really put that same system into the SRT-4.
The original SRT4 worked just fine as a FWD.
People keep saying "bring back the neon, make it AWD!!!" but fail to read the earlier posts about why that is very unlikely.

I just finished the survey, I was hoping it would be more detailed and ask for more imput on other items other than just clutchless shifters and display options. But it is good to see that they are taking steps to reach out to the actual consumers for ideas of what is prefered.....who wouldnt want a AFR meter stock in the car...or 1/4 timer....so on so on.
would 27k seem obserd for the benefits of an awd srt4?
I just don't think you are going to get it for 27K is all.
Don't get me wrong, would I LOVE to have an AWD 300 hp SRT-4 based on a new small body car and possibly even tossed onto the Evo platform? HELL YES I would, but the plain fact of the matter is that there is a lot of cost involved in an AWD set up, it has to be able to handle the stress of that much HP.

yeah man I get what ur saying. we can dream though, and I guess in reality for every Nsrt owner that moves up to a awd\rwd platform, there are probably a slew of new consumers interested in a fwd performance car. maybe they could make it an option.
who knows, but they will need to move away from the caliber soon imo.
im sure the neon is dead. one thing is for sure. the caliber must go! at least as the srt4. they need a better representative for the srt badge.
the engineers did a good job with what they had to work with, but come on! I think even the avenger would of been better.
yes, but awd srt-4, with easy build options as it has now, would be one of the top competitors if not the top. very easily and VERRRRRY!!!! VERYYYY FAST to become top in the world
What they need to do is bring back the SRT6 and make an AWD Avenger. Its already a pretty decent looking car and iv see an all black one that just looked mean. And Chrysler has had some AWD cars... granted they stole them from Mitsubishi.. Talon/Laser first gen TSi s where sick the stealth tt. Put a tt V6 in the avenger, with sweet body mods and I guarantee it would be a hot ride
And look at GM, Audi/VW, and Mazda they all have direct injection turbo 4 cylinders that make sick amounts of power.. With that said the next srt4 needs to tap into some of that engineering.

tt awd would be too expensive to replace the srt4. I've seen some suck avengers out there. so fwd 4 with a turbo would already be better off then the mini bus.
as for direct injection, I've heard it can get to be more an obstacle than an advantage when tuning. that's not from experience. just what I've heard and read a little on.
I can deal with front wheel drive, but it has to look a lot better than what's out there for dodge right now.
