It is a common pastime for us to sit around and talk about what should have been done on this vehicle or that vehicle to make it the ultimate car. Gearheads are united in the fact that we can never fully agree on what constitutes a perfect performance machine. Now is your chance to let your voice be heard however and have a true hand in the future development of the next SRT vehicle.
We have been contacted by the SRT Engineering Team to help spread the word and get as much feedback as possible from the communities that buy these things! Please take a moment out of your day and head over to the following URL and participate in the very quick survey. Your feedback helps out a ton in allowing SRT to decide the most efficient use of their engineering resources... and the more efficient they can do that, the more efficient our potential purchase will ultimately end up. Everyone wins.
Edit: Link Removed -- Thanks everyone who participated, they got plenty of feedback and no longer need the survey filled out!
After completing the survey, please chime in here and let us know your thoughts and let us know you completed the survey. I'd like to see us really take advantage of this opportunity and the more the merrier!

completed the only thing i really got into with that survey was the autostick. it is faster if you leave it in automatic mode. takes too long in between gears when you slap it over. even if you get it when the light comes on it still lags.
i notice that on the 06 charger srt-8 and i am on the charger forums a lot and they say the same thing. they will leave it in auto at the track and get better times that way.
I agree on the track it's more efficient than a manual, but I still prefer a manual just because I get a better feel for what the car is doing. I got to drive a new GTi with the paddle shifters and I lost some of that "by the seat of your pants" feel when to shift.

if those guys are doing serious mods to their chargers, they should have figured out a way to adjust that(I would think). it should work to their advantage, but i dont know much about the new chargers.

i haven't really looked for the answer if there is a fix for it or not. my wife drives the charger srt-8 as a daily driver and she just leaves it it auto so it doesn't really matter to me. maybe i should check into it tho just for reference.
My thoughts? I'm going to toss out more than just the SRT thoughts, because all of mine tie in together... so a lot of this is my opinion about Chrysler LLC in general.
1) The Caliber SRT-4 has been, for all practical purposes, a disaster. Yes, it is a decent vehicle for what it started out as, (Say what you want in 'public', we know you could not have been happy what you had to do to bring it to the table) but it was NOT the right choice to replace the Neon SRT4 with. It was just all you had. That leads me to (2)
2) BUILD A SMALL CAR!!! The idea that the smallest vehicle Chrysler has is the Caliber and platform models is absolutely ridiculous. Build another car roughly the size of the Neon, obviously upgraded with a modern exterior and interior. Chrysler needs this, BADLY! In the last 10 years Chrysler Co has been really behind on a lot of things. In the mid 90's when gas prices weren't too bad, Chrysler has a bunch of cars that get relatively decent gas mileage but have absolutely no power to speak of (MISTAKE to have ever dropped the turbo cars in 1993/4), but now we have horrible gas prices, and Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep does not have one car that can reliably get 30 mpg or higher. Don't give me that "Caliber gets 31 mpg" because I know of no one that owns them around here that does, and even 31 mpg doesn't cut it when compared to most of the other companies that, at the very least, offer a couple of vehicles that get 35+ mpg. Chrysler has nothing to offer the lower middle income single college student type right now, someone looking for cheep transportation, as in decent gas mileage. This brings me to (3)
3) Using the vehicle from (2) as a starting point, create the successor to the CSRT-4, something that the NSRT-4 successor SHOULD have been. Doesn't need to be AWD, that's a farce, you can't afford to do that right now anyway, build another car that is low priced and furiously fast. Look what Chevy has done, they quite possibly may take the 'fastest FWD car ever built' title from the NSRT-4, using Dodge's very recipe for success. That is why whatever new car you create needs to really be stylish, and should be 4 doors to appeal to the thrifty/practical crowd, because as we all know, the bread and butter is NOT the performance version of the car, it is the thrifty low end model that is cheapest to build and most likely to sell in the tens, or hopefully hundreds, of thousands of units.
4) Axe half your jeep models, they are a disaster, you know it, we know it, you don't need a dozen different kinds of jeeps, you are hemmoraging badly from that area. Take it back to the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Wrangler, and the Commander or whatever one is closest to the original Cherokee (non grand).
5) SOMEHOW, some way, KEEP THE VIPER, for the love of god!!!!
Again, my opinions, I know a lot isn't truly SRT related but its hard to put it out there without explaining...

do it right and use a manny tranny as a base. Buy a few used toyota mr2 sypders with their shiftronic and drive around in it. Note how it is a great tranny in that it really is a stick, but also realize their mistakes of making the shifts way too slow.
Do keep the controls the same way toyota did. Pull back to upshift, not the incorrect way that almost every manumatic is currently setup where you push forward to upshift.
