Default Signature Limits

As some of you may have noticed we are starting to enforce the signature limits that we've been handing out manually for years. The limit is currently 150 pixels tall by 400 pixels wide.

For those of you who have signatures which exceed this, you'll see a scrollbar there. This only covers extra height, not width.

I would suggest uploading an image that fits into our requirement as we will turn off the scroll bar in a week or so after everyone has had time to transition away.

are you talking about images being 150 pixels tall by 400 pixels or the entire signature?

This sig took me forever to get something to fit. Had to lose my other sig due to new standards. Meh, came up with another one.

DAMNIT... there you are again with that, oh so interesting sig.... where is the lotion.

Looks like it was turned off a day later. I woke up to the scroll this morning and now there's no scroll.

I don't see that as being time for everyone to transition and correct their signature.

I see chopped signatures everywhere.

I'm working on mine right now to fit the requirements.

I think there was a break in it somewhere. That is why it quit working.
Not because of the transition time.

I guess some people like the huge signatures? I for one can't stand it.
I mean, is it really necessary to take an entire page to list out a bunch
of crap that people don't really care about anyway? Is it necessary to
have a HUGE photo that takes forever to load and is actually larger than
the two words you felt you needed to post? Seriously?

Come on, does your signature really NEED
to be any bigger than this? If you have a

Acutally someone putting a picture that's 640 x 480 in their signature is ridiculous and I find it to be ridiculous. But some people's signatures weren't HUGE. Some were as long (width) as the vendor advertisement ads on the bottom and top of this forum and a bit taller (height). Those also got chopped. Those were more paronamic (sp?) type of pictures with a line of SRT-4's from a meet. If there were more mods/super mods to control this then this wouldn't be such an issue or become of one.

For example, take a look at NoisufnoC sig. It got chopped and I'm sure of it that a few more pixels it would show his whole bumper. I don't find his sig to be huge. Samething goes for goats srt sig.

I'm not complaining about it, just stating a point that not everyone's signature was overly done.

If the page takes forever to load because of people's signature then those people need to get a better internet provider or connection. Adding ads all over the forums is going to effect those people who already have that problem. So increasing the number of ads and limiting the amount used for a signature will still effect the people who had problems with page loading from signatures being too big.

If you don't want to see signatures just turn them off in the CP. Turn them back on later when everyone gets their sigs straight.

Something is not working right. I've tried deleting all the text from my sig, but it still won't allow me to save a 285 by 100 (17.5 kb) file. The error says, "unable to save image".
