I think this is a great idea.

My girlfriend is an interior design major, with a minor in graphical communications. She knows all too well about typography and flash when it comes to websites and anything business related. I would definitely refer her to the site if this goes through.

I think it'd be terrific I'm an IT Professional and Web developer (specializing in .NET and all Microsoft technologies) and am always looking for side work, primarily to mod my car...

May I also suggest somewhere in our profiles an area to add our areas of expertise, certifications, previous work, resume, etc. Not sure if it can be added, not familiar with this bb software, just a thought.

Hope it happens and thank you in advance for any supplemental income it may bring!

We'll use this thread to discuss any changes or ideas.

I've already had a question regarding resumes.

"Can't we just upload our resumes?"

No. The keywords are the key as well as the 3 digit zip code. That will enable easy searching of the forums. You can upload your resume in word format (.doc) as part of your post (as an attachment).

Is there really enough people offering jobs around here to necessitate four different forums for them?

The only concern I have is I'd hate to see this site turn into VWVortex with 80 different forums for every little subject. It starts to become a little watered down IMHO. We already have more than enough forums.

Great idea. This way we can make fun of the lazy jobless people who are a drain on my tax dollars. Or help them find a job, which ever.

You make a valid point, but I'm more interested in solutions. We know there is a need for a forum like this. Lay it out as if this project was yours and lets make it better.

Honestly, I've been around here longer than most and I don't see the need for it.

If you want suggestions, I'd suggest reducing it down to one forum or two forums, one for people looking and one for people advertising. I don't believe you're going to see the traffic to demand three separate regions for each subtopic.

I don't know, these are just my opinions. I'm just more in favor of a "cleaner" forum system, than the one we currently have. It's bad enough that every sponsor currently has their own forum, but that I understand we can't get around. We also have forums for concept cars that will never exist like the Razor or something that no one here will ever own(the Tomahawk).

In short, I'm in favor of simplifying things.

Is the postal code in Canada uniform in any way? In other words, if I gave you a postal code in Canada, by formula, would you be able to tell which province it's in?

If yes, then let me know what it is, and we'll work it into the search feature. If no, I'll add a "Province" field to the template.
