I agree, stock for stock its not close. However, if the Cobalt SS is 'under rated' from the factory (much like the SRT-4) -- then it could certainly be a drivers race.

And don't even call me a magazine racer because car and driver did the same test in the SRT-4 and they ended up with a low 14 second time. I can't find a pic of the article but I have it saved somewhere.
Every once in a while there are factory freaks out there as well. Either way, I love to see more competition out there on the streets. Any performance vehicle is a boon in my book....

True, but I'm just hoping a bunch of G-Thugs from the woods don't go and buy a bunch. I wish they'd raise the price of them so people don't go and rice them out when they get home. Wish they'd raise the price of the SRT-4 as well, heh.
I hear that w/ the performance package (includes recaro seats and an LSD) it'll run about $24K. It sounds about right to me. Srt-4 is an old chassis just waiting to go, but I enjoy it and the Cobalt SS is more refined. I just can't wait to see one of those on the streets. I believe it will become a fairly renowned car in the tuner market. I'm tryin to convince one of my friends to get one, we'll see if he bites. Thank god for another worthy domestic import fighter tho; even you should agree w/ that NOTE.
I'd have to say the Cobalt in terms of styling..... looks like the redline with a bowtie. A really weak looking vehecle. IMHO. To Quote the engineers of the redline "It just seems that GM fell just a little short of the mark once again". However, the fact that they stuck 18 inch wheels on this puppy is pretty impressive, but apparently thats really all there is. Oh and the GM crew seems to think that quieting the inside with sound dampening is a real seller for the current market....I guess if my Grandpa is looking for a 4 banger,,,, but honestly with a good sound system in the SRT,,,,,,I don't hear the road. But I'll certainly hear my car screamin when I hand a cobalt it's bow tie or a redline it's rings.
Kinda hard to be on the lookout when the only place I'll see them is in my rearview mirror.
