As you all know today was the funeral of another great member of the community and friend of mine Steven Lorenz aka NightShade here on the forum.
I had the honor to be able to speak in front of his friends and family today at the service. I acknowledge that I was an emotional wreck through out the whole service. I had an extremely hard time dealing with my emotions. When I did my speech, I had left out many great attributes of Steven including leaving out the great aspects and involvement of the local florida SRT's ( again guys thanks so much for coming).
So why am I writing this especially on the frontpage?
To put it as simple as possible that even though we had rough times here in SRTforums , all of you guys have pull through in one way or another to help others in need especially during times like these that are extremely sad and hard to get by.
I am honored to be a member of this community and I greatly appreciate all you guys have done not only for the love ones of our passed members but what you do now, to keep this community growing.

But I'm Glad That I Saw Like 15-20 Srt's In The Funeral And That Mean That We Are A Tight Group And That's Good, I'm Rpoud To Be A Srt-4 Owner And A Member From This Forum. God Bless Steve And Max Rip.

and steve if you could somehow read this just let you know that even though i didnt really know u that well were all here for you and that will never change...we'll see ya at the finish line~~~~later bro
i was also there. sorry i couldnt make the after reception at his house but duty called. it was nice meeting everyone and seeing those who made it out. to bad it couldnt be on better circumstances.
even not knowing steven very well except for the forums, hearing the things people had to say about him gave me chills.
it was an honor to be a part of it. Enrique ya did great up there, i think everyone was an emotional wreck. I hope you can convince his parents to show up at the barbeque. Maybe even wave the 10$ fee so they'll wanna come even more! But sereously it was great to see so many SRT's and SO MANY people there in honor and celebration of Steven's life. he'll be missed!

i feel equally as lucky to be part of a great community of people like yourselves. it's just amazing to think something as silly as a particular car could bring so many awesome people together and make us all a family of sort without ever really knowing some of the people you talk to on here. i know in the short time that i have been part of the forums i have met so awesome people Nightshade being one of them, and i agree with FastAttack 100% we've all gotten through these tough times with the help and words of each other and we will continue to grow and learn more from one another as time passes on. We will never forget those who we've lost, but i hope that they know that their passings have not been in vain, that all of us have learned things from all these events, even if it's something as small as a reality check to remember we are not invincible and this could have and still could happen to any of us on any given day, even at to no fault of our own. i personally have never been one to be part of "groups" or "clubs" but being a part of this one has definately changed my thoughts about that and made definately not only lucky but proud to be a part of it all. you guys are all awesome. R.I.P. to all that we have lost.
its weird b/c although i may not know nearly as much about cars/how to do this and that on them as others on this forum do, my car was purchased in september and already i feel as a part of the group. through all of the little arguments, scammers and general chatting that goes on in here. i have met SOOO many ppl that i can relate with and i love the vibe that is created through these forums. all in all, keep doin what your doin guys and girls...the few b/c it really means alot to everyone and to all those lost, you will be missed tremendously!!!
I agree, great community here. Eventhough Im way up north in Canada, this still hurts, and they will all be remembered. I am very proud to be a member and hope to meet many of you at nationals this year.

so you guys know on the other side of the funeral home there were like 5 more srts. it was great to see that many. we had to park in the grass cuz there wasnt enough room so many people showed up. i was actually in a bush.
Hey thanks FastAttack for spearheading this and keeping everyone in the loop the whole time. It looks like a strong showing, I bet his parents will look back at the number of people he touched directly or indirectly and have a smile in their hearts. Thanks all for representing the rest of us who wanted to come but for whatever reason could not.

Wow. I had just looked at Nightshade's site a few days ago, when I heard the news. My thoughts go to everyone touched by this tragedy.
And seeing all you guys pull together for this, is really a great testiment to the kind of people we all are.
This is a great community. I only wish I could make it to Nationals to meet more of the people in this community.
