hey coolingmist i received my trunkmount tank on wednesday but i just got to installing the tank kit early today. but i have a question the tank is leaking from the bottom where the float switch is at. i was wondering what you would suggest to stop it from leaking. i used a little bit of slicone to stop the leaking but its still leaking a little thank you for your help.
If you tighten the hex al the way and it still leaks I would suggest getting a new o-ring. Unfortunately we had a group that had an oring that was smaller than it should have been. I can send you a new one. Send your info to info@coolingmist.com. The other option is for you to go to the autostore and get a small o-ring to put around the float under the hex nut. I would not use silicon on it. Sorry for the problem, this caused an issue in about 7 or 8 kits that we sold.
i did tighten the hex but it still leaked. i have another question is the o ring suppose to be on the inside of the tank or on the outside. and what size does the o ring have to be. ill send my info to you if i can find one at the auto store. thanks for your help on this matter.
You can put the oring on the inside or outside, we put them inside, so you can just put the new one on the outside. Its either a #10 or #16, i think # 10 I'm not 100% sure and cannot findout until I go back to the shop monday. I'd bring the tank with you.
Im very sorry about this, the oring we used was just a little too small on some of the tanks.
