Default Question for CM

I wanted your opinion on something, I have seen some negative comments on using the 150 psi pump with a direct port system. Some have said that its not enough pressure and it just dribbles instead of spraying like it should.

My question to you is, do you think this is correct or did the person saying this possibly have an issue other than what was stated? Do you feel that 150 psi is enough pressure for a 4 cylinder direct port with m2 nozzles?

Or do I really need to upgrade to the newer 200/250 psi pump? I will take your word as the final say on the issue.

we would never have sold the 150 psi pump as a direct port if it just dribble. It atomizes good. Its true the 250 psi pump will atomize better, but the 150 is not terrible.

when using a direct port, the water that is in the 4 lines and the distribution block will get sucked back into the engine after shut off. This is going to happen with either pump.

The big advantage with the 250 psi pump besides more pressure is the bypass feature of the pump. In your case when you hit 150 psi (and you will with the small nozzles) the pump shuts off and does not turn back on until the pressure drops to 130. That is the pulsing you hear. The 250 psi will bypass keeping the pressure constant. If your going to upgrade do it for that reason not the "dribbling" that you hear so much about.

more questions let me know.
