Default Problem with Vari-Cool controller

Before I go ahead and start pointing fingers at the member I bought this used unit from I want to make sure Im not doing something wrong.

I installed the varicool controller onto my trunkmount kit today and went to prime the system and the pump wouldnt turn on. I checked all my connections and everything is wired right. Just for grins I hard wired the pump with the controller out of the loop and the pump runs like a champ.
From what I can tell, the controller turns on the pump by providing ground. I check the the red wire and saw 12.27 volts. Next I checked the green wire and also had 12.27 volts.... I cycled the pump on (prime in the vari-cool software) and no change on the green wire, I still had source voltage.
I tried a different serial cable but that didnt change anything, plus I could still read a boost/vac source. The green light flashes like its supposed to as well. SO this is where Im at now after 3 hours of testing, changing wires and testing again. Let me know If I just bought a $200 paper weight.

Oh and sorry in advance for grammatical errors in the post....im just ready for bed now after coming home after work and fighting with this.

Bryan

Alot of the Vari-cool kits we sell on this forum are S3HOM kits. They usually have 2 nozzles. These are programmed to inject based on TPS and boost. I would check that. If so you need to re-program it or hook the Tps WIRE TO IT.

If you use the software, it will prime it does not need the TPS. The PRIME button completely ignores the programming and side switch.

What version is your controller? We have many revisions. You need V1.04 or above to turn the pump on with the software. Prior to 1.04 it does not make the system go solid when it injects and does not work with the "prime" feature of the software.

Oh ok.... so Ill stop freaking out for now and check on the controller version. Is there a way to update the controller firmware if its an older version? I just checked and its version 1.2.

No there is no way. Version 1.2 is one of our first designs. It does not have the features of our new ones. We are on 1.6 now.

The light will always blink so its normal to do that.
