on the note of colder water...I was wonder last night when I was driving how much of an effect I would get buy throwing some ice cubes in the bottle? I know they wouldn't last too long but if you were to hit up the track for an hour or two would you be able to notice a small difference?
Oh, everyone, dont forget to reset the PCM after the install as mine was still trying to run some cheesy timing. After a quick reset that thing was like a bat...out of hell.
I think all my buddies want to buy W/I now, one of them was like 'but corky bell said you shouldn't need it'....I was like Dont make me smack you!
no pics yet guys...I had some things that needed taken care of at the house. Tonight should be good.
Mine was plug and play...My activation is what the boost switch comes pre-set at (10psi) and like I have already mentioned; it feels almost like a completely different car. My buddy with the CTS-v called me up last night and said he is going to have his ecu 'tuned'...so I dont keep inchin away from him.
Isn't there a small bottle of nitro-methane or something that you can add to your bottle of water for something like 15-30 extra ponies?

rubbing one out while watching the plumber work doesn't count as 'i had things to do'.

Are you going to try the ice cubes...or was that just a joke? I can't see how it wouldn't help a little. As long as they are distilled. Anbody have a definite answer?
I can definetly see it helping, I am just not sure how much. I am running the filter that cooling mist offers...so I am not too worried about using regualr ice cubes from my freezer.
The way I look at it, if you are injecting ice cold water into the charge pipe you will have a much greater cooling effect then if the water is warm.
I have to take it easy on my car today...I noticed an oil leak when I was tapping into my water bottle so that the pump can have its own source, and I dont want to harm the motor at all from lack of oil. I should have it back thursday, from then I will be running a 50/50 mix of denaturized alky and water along with throwing in some cubes. It should make for a fun night.
And just when I thought I was going to be almost done with my performance modding. I am going to have to check this system out. We have 90 octane over here on base in England and I am sure I am suffering badly because of it. I have to watch how much boost I use due to the crappy octane. This might help with that problem. I am running a AGP WGA, coming soon stage 1 and MBC. Eventually a new exhuast. But this may come first.
Dark_SRT4, what kit did you get for your car? I am assuming that the Base kit would be good for me and I could upgrade the pump if I wanted. How much difference would it be with the 60 psi instead of the 100 or 150 psi pump. Please don't say 40-90 psi.
This is something I am going to have to look into getting.
scott, the kit WILL make quite a difference for you considering your current octane and your future plans. After the stage 1 and mbc you will lose quite a bit of timing due to pinging or knock...and the stage 1 pcm loves to steal timing from the motor.
The 60psi kit is nice for stock boost levels but its not the greatest, I would recommend the 100psi kit. If you felt up to it the 150psi kit could come in handy up the road if you wanted to make closer to 300whp (dasmopar is making over 300whp with the stock turbo on the CM 100psi kit).
I'd imagine stage 1, wga, mbc (18psi falling to 15psi), exhaust, water injection, and an intake would put you very close if not above the 280whp range.
Thanks for the reply man. I am looking at hopefully getting that kind of power and you are right with the octane here I am definately considering this as my next mod. How easy is it to install. I can usually figure out most mechanical stuff, especially after someone shows me once but anything electical I fall short on. There are a bunch of other SRT-4 owners over here that probably could help me with the install though and some of them have alot more experience with this car than I do. Well, I guess I would go with the 150 psi kit. Would I be able to use the single stage or should I go with dual stage?
Scott, the mechanical and electrical install is not all that hard. My hardest part was finding a place (other then the trunk) to install the pump. The electrical was pretty simple, I followed the diagram and was able to run my acc(+) wire, battery(+) wire, and grounds to easy locations.
btw, I am running their single stage 150psi kit. I know that I will have room to grow as I continually modify the car. The 150psi kit is great, but if you order at a time when they are out and dont plan on waiting then dont hesitate to order the 100.

The dual stage is a great kit if you want to eliminate heat soak almost all the time. The first stage can run as low as 1 psi, pre-cooling the air. We recommend this for cars that are having a bad problem with ping, want to completely eliminate heatsoak and want the redundancy of a 2nd nozzle.
The 150 psi kit will drop your intake temps like a rock under heavy boost. Just like the dual stage the harder you push your car, the lower the temps will be. Unlike the dual stage under low boost situations your car will heatsoak (however that is quickly eliminated as you boost).
