What have you guys normally done with the fiberglass ones? How do people paint them? I am interested... but worried for these reasons. Also, how is the fitment on these? Have you found that these have worked better then the carbon fiber ones? I would come doen to the US to pick it up.... so it would be putting it on when I am down there..... I guess I would have to find a shop down there that would be painting it.....
The way that the mesh is bonded in, it should not be all that difficult to mask it off prior to painting. Typically people do just that, they mask of the areas that lead to the grills, prep the hood, and paint away. The fiberglass hoods come out of the exact same mold as the Carbon Fiber ones, they are identical and so fitment is exactly the same. You don't need to paint it before driving back up, it has a heavy gel coat on the exterior and is black, so it will be fine for a drive back home.
