Default ~ Rage-Tek Solid Bushing Kit install PICS How-To ~

some pics from today's install...any questions?

the kit:

used an air hammer to knock the stock bushing out:

use a sharp razor to cut off the ends before pressing the stock rubber out:

should look like this before going to the press:

use socket to 'catch' stock rubber bushing and a pipe section to help push it out:

like so:

Remember to torque the bolts right. 85 ft-lbs for the Delrin bolts and 160 ft-lbs for the rear bolt. Great product! Can't wait for my ported intake manifold and throttle body!

It is a good price. I really wanted to get a set of these, but for the time being I've installed a set of the $30 polyurethane control arm bushings instead. They don't work quite as well, but I was able to afford them better right now, and they will keep me legal for the Spec SRT-4 class, if I ever decide to do that. The poly bushings are actually harder to install than your nice setup, Nemo, which I still hope to get sometime.

i just installed the kit last night. 2 questions.

1) will the delrin bushing bind up at 85 ft/lbs? I ask because it feels liek the suspension is now stiffer in the front.

2) is it essential to grease the delrin bushing? I did not, therefore I am concerned.

Thanks
