"Chrysler ups Crossfire performance with supercharged SRT-6
By AUTOWEEK
MOVE OVER SRT-4 AND Ram SRT-10.
Those hot Dodge models from Chrysler’s Performance Vehicle Operations shop are about to be joined in the showroom by PVO’s first stab at a souped-up Chrysler: the 2005 Crossfire SRT-6.
Due in September 2004, the Crossfire SRT-6 follows the May 2004 introduction of the sharply styled Crossfire Roadster convertible. SRT-6 is powered by a supercharged version of the car’s current 3.2-liter V6 engine borrowed from the Mercedes-Benz SLK320. Output jumps from the 215 hp provided by the naturally aspirated 3.2-liter engine to at least 330 hp. The supercharged engine makes 349 hp in the SLK32 AMG.
Chrysler’s chief operating officer Wolfgang Bernhard promised 0-to-60-mph times at about five seconds for the supercharged Crossfire. The hotter Crossfire gets special wheels and badging and a fixed rear spoiler replacing the motorized pop-up job on the current model. Chrysler will make the SRT-6 engine available on the coming Crossfire Roadster, along with all-weather Z-rated high-performance tires."
I have no issues in saying that the Crossfire is one sweet looking car IMO. But you sure as hell wont find me shelling out $35,000 for that car, its not worth that much..... and thats the going price for the current Crossfire, I dont even want to know how much the supercharged version is going to be.
EBBTIDE IS RIGHT, EVERYTHING NEW COMING OUT FROM
CHRYSLER HAS MERCEDES PARTS AND TECHNOLOGY
I WAS AMAZED WHEN I SAW THE 04 HB (DURANGO)
THE SWITCHES AND BUTTONS AND CLUSTER AND EVEN THE RADIO
IS MERCEDES
ITS LIKE BUYING A MERCEDES FOR HALF THE PRICE
EVEN OUR CARS HAVE A LITTLE "MERCEDES MAGIC" IN THEM.
True about all that. You have to understand there is more to the crossfire's price than just its performance numbers, take one for a ride and you'll realize what your getting. Its a luxury car that is amazingly competent on the highway and around town. Plus it definitely pampers the driver with luxury-minus getting in and out with the low roof line. The one I drove I loved, plus now there are a lot of rebates on them so you can get them in the high 20's here in Mass. I can't wait to drive a PVO version!

the cross fire is a reskinned mercedes SLK320 that costs ten thousand dollars less....the SRT-6 cross fire is AMG built not PVO (which is shitty but still cool) it's mroe then worth it a ten thousand dollar discount for a mercedes? that's a steal
