Chrysler Group cut the price of the Crossfire coupe almost 15 percent to under $30,000 to woo customers with lower prices rather than big discounts.
The 2005 Crossfire, due next month, will start at $29,920.
Chrysler has also said its new 300 Series sedan, due in April, will start at under $24,000. The new PT Cruiser convertible sells for less than $20,000.
“The idea is to offer better engineered vehicles at a better price point,” said Chrysler brand manager Scott Slagle.
Also coming this year are the 2005 Crossfire Roadster, a convertible priced from $35,000, and a souped-up coupe and roadster, selling for about $46,000 and $50,000, respectively.
Chrysler hopes to boost Crossfire sales after selling just 4,000 last year. Demand is growing with discounts that averaged $1,988 last month, according to Autodata Corp. Through February, Chrysler had sold 1,500 Crossfires.
Auto analyst Jesse Toprak of Edmunds.com said a less-expensive Crossfire should attract more mainstream buyers. “You could almost consider Crossfire a steal.” "
The Current Crossfire will be billed as the Crossfire Limited. The $29,000 package mentioned above is a base model with cloth interior, and as of now, is only slated to come in black, with a manual tranny. The auto will not be available in the base model.
The dealership here has a blue Crossfire on the lot already - any other Crossfires out there?!

I realize they aren't the fastest selling cars in the chrysler inventory, but why would you go below invoice, below holdback, below any possible MPA money out there, and still lose over $2,000 just to sell the car???

Now you are thinking, Tommylee. We are honestly a volume store, the way Chrysler sets objectives for the dealers to meet you have to be. Its no longer about making the most on each car you sell, the market is to driven for that. Now the more you sell, the more you make. It all comes down to the bottom line. This is obviously a fair deal and someone who is shopping and in the market for a Crossfire will know this.
Spyder 1, you have seen the light... I happen to have in my district the #2 (highest volume) DaimlerChrylser dealer in the country. You may have heard of them....Woodhouse! 3 of my dealers are supporting vendors on this website...Performance Dodge, Woodhouse, and Olsen Dodge.
