these stupid threads have to stop....

how do you have over 1,000 posts, be a member for over a year, and not know whether or not these sizes will fit on your UNMODIFIED suspension...?

No i think you did a great job with the sticky and it helps out pretty much everyone. I have just seen so many people do so many different things that I was curious what my limits were so to speak. For instance i have seen plenty of people tossing 235's on 7" width wheels and being fine even though it is a safety issue. This is something that seems to be a gray area i know people have done 255's without issues but I guess i am just trying to get the best bang for my buck and not be worried that the stuff wont fit. Yes i know there are exceptions to every rule i am just trying to figure out if i can be one of those exceptions lol.

I am not highly knowledgable on rims and tires I never have been I have been more focused on motor work. I have always found that rims and tires cost so much more money when money can be well spent other places untill traction becomes a serious issue.

I have no problem with you guys being hard on me none at all. I think it can sometimes be the best way to teach someone. I appreciate the help. Everything was explained and I am going to decide if 245's will be the way to go on 18"x7.5" wheels if i decide to do that instead of 17's. Also is it worth it to run a slightly wider tire up front then in the rear? Or is that mainly to save a few bucks?

this is probably the most similair in design to the hairpins correct? Are they work wheels?

I like the hairpins better. With a 17x7.5 wheel You can go with a 235 45 17 if you want to but I wouldnt unless the offset is +40 mm or more. If its less than +40 I would still stick with a 225 45 17

I myself have even gone down to a 225 45 17 on my 17x8s for the summer. The 255s were too road sensitive and the tire noise was more than it needed to be.
