The Kumho Ecsta SPT have decent wear, great wet and dry traction, and are not very noisy. Almost impossible to beat for the price. I love those tires!

You probably bought the KDW instead of the KDW NT (New Tread, aka KDW2). BFG had two tread designs for the same compound tire.

The list hasn't been updated in a while and I purposely left out DOT r-compound tires. Nitto's true street tire offerings weren't up to other offerings on the market. Their only saving grace is they are more likely to have oddball sizes, but they also lack common sizes. Some of this has changed in the past few months with the NT05, but I still don't like any of the other offerings they have. The Invo is a joke because they, like the KDW2 and a few others, designed tires mainly for looks instead of performance. Toyo will probably be left out of the list if I get around to updating it because all of their offerings in the true street tire range are quite old in design and construction.

Speaking of a new list, do you all want it broken down by size like this, or just by performance category and let you all look up sizes? Obviously one is way easier than the other, lol. I was also considering linking to DTD or TR and pulling prices (knowing it won't be accurate over time, but would give you all an idea on relative expense between different tires) but that again is a good bit more work and I'd have to use tinyurl to generate links.

I think the breakdown by size is awesome.

Hey Stow, are there any negatives in Running a 225/50 over the 225/40 on the ACR. Would give me a bit more options but Im not sure if there are any concerns with the difference in sidewall

Right now my cars running 205/55s that just barely clear the struts by a inch or so, I really wants my 225 back

You should only run a 225/45-16 because taller tires (225/50-16) will very likely hit the spring perch and skinnier tires are just major ftl.

Hey Stow...looking at ordering a set of ASA AR9's in 18x8 and I was wondering if I would have any issues with my Eibach Sportline Springs. I would go 17, but they aren't available. Tirerack is recommending 225/40-18 tires. I need your expert advice...

that size is totally fine and you won't have any clearance problems so long as the offset is 35mm.

Yeah, they are 35mm. Your response to my question could have been a tad faster...took you a whole 20 minutes

Thanks dude!

what is the source of your info?

tire reviews?
user reviews?
personal experience?

if its from user reviews... i would like to add that my 215/50/17 yokohama s.drives are awesome. imo much better in every way comapared to the stock tires. better wet and dry straight line grip, smoother, quieter, and a bit more responsive in turns. lasted longer too

actual road tests, user ratings from various sites, etc. Sometimes companies just like to have certain characteristics in their tires so you can go along with those things and compare characteristics easily.

Will I have any problems running 18 x 7.5 wheels with 225 x 40's on an ACR? Should the offset be 35?
Thanks for the help.
