Heres a few ideas to help people put 17's on there acr srt-4. There is no need to worry about the front struts they will be fine for up to 235 wide tires as long as the offset of the rim is 40 or less. It is the back struts that are the problem being 1 inch lower than regular srt-4 struts. Ahhh what to do. Based on 4 hours of looking up tire brands and sizes. Ive learned this. You can go 17x7 to 17x8 with rims that have an offset of 40 or less(35 for 17x7.5 or 8 would be best) on tires that are no wider than 215. Yes they will be slightly skinnier than the 225 but still wider than stock srt4 with 205 tires. And they can be no taller than 40 series! Almost every brand of tire that is 215/40/17 has an overall diameter of 23.7 to 24! THEY WILL FIT. And they all have a high enough max load rating so you are safe there as well. Now your sayin that sucks i wanna stay the same or go wider. Heres what you will have to do if you choose to go wider.(at your own risk) Next there is only ONE brand of tire that is 225/40/17. It is the NITTO E555. This tire is 24.06 in diameter and has a max load of 1323lbs.(better than 16in bfg tire) Next up is 235/40/17 tires. Most of the brands i looked up are an average of 24.4 in diameter. and have a safe max load level(1200lbs or more). to run 235/40/17 tires you will have to use a rim that is less than 40 in offset! 35 would be best to get the furthest away from the rear struts. Lastly what you need to do if you want 235 wide tires is hammer up where it bubbles down on the rear strut. It is a dimple made for reinforcement of the strut perch. ONCE AGAIN THIS IS AT YOUR OWN RISK! I have read that team mopar did this on one of there acr's to make 17's fit with no issues. this is a lil info to help ACR owners mount 17's on there cars. ONCE again this is at your own risk!(modding the rear strut perch)
Quick guide:
Stock srt4 acr tires: BFG KDW2's 225/45/16-23.7" dia.-1279lbs max load
215/40/17 tires: average 23.7 to 24" dia. average of 1323lbs max load
225/40/17 NITTO E555: 24.06" dia max load 1323lbs
235/40/17 tires: 24.4 average dia. average max load 1323lbs.
Examples of 235/40/17 tires:
BFG KDW 24.4"dia. max load 1477lbs
Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 24.3"dia max load 1323lbs
Falken Azenis Rt615 24.3"dia max load 1323lbs
Cooper Zeon 2xs 24.3" max load 1323lbs
Load rating on tire MUST BE HIGHER THAN 84 to be SAFE!(some tires are 83 and is not high enough)
Some tires i looked up were XL(reinforced sidewalls) along with an 87 or higher load rating.
Another tip for the rear with 235/40/17 tires is to get 3mm or 5mm spacers for even more room. This might even work instead of modding the lower strut perches.
Ill be testing and taking pictures of this when i get 17x8 ssr's with 235/40 tires...

Ok I have a friend that want's 235/40/17 on his ACR Srt-4 he also want's to use lowering springs. 1" drop in the front 1.75" in the rear will it rub the fenders?
He will use a 17x8 35mm offset like I have on my car but he has an Acr.
Any pictures or info. you can give me ty,
Sean
Edit: Holly shit I didn't see this thread was 3 years old I might not get an answer!

Your friend should not have any rubbing with that kind of drop.
I STRONGLY disagree with the first post on the load ratings. I maintain that an 87XL (and keeping the air pressure at 35 or higher) or regular 89 is the minimum you should run on the front of an SRT-4, ACR or not. Static weight on the front of an SRT-4 is right in the 1000lb range on each front tire. Add in a couple of passengers and you easily can go over the 1100lb range an 83/84 rating has.
