Default Safest 18" For Our Cars

What is the safest size of 18" tire that can be used on our cars? The wife bought me new 18" rims and want to know a "perfect" fit tire. The rims are 18 X 7.5 and I have a choise of the following sizes and the car is lowered.
205/40/18
215/35/18
215/40/18
225/40/18
225/45/18
235/40/18
Thank you for any feed back you can give me on this.

x2. I've had Goodyear 225/40/18's on mine for two years. No problems and no rubbing even with my Eibach Sportlines.

for a 18x7.5 a 225/40-18 is the safest and best option. 235/40 is too wide for that wheel. Read the Wheel/Tire Tech sticky and you'll get all of this information.

def. the 225 40 18. There are a ton of tire choices in that size as well.
