Default Question about wheel shaking at high speed

well not that high speed. ~50mph and the faster you go the worse it gets. I just put 2 15"s with DRs on my car. The stock lug nuts seemed to fit fine, however Im getting the tuner lug nuts tomorrow.

However one of my friends told me I need a ring to go around the ?HUB? (the inner most part of the wheel) because the one on the 15s is a little bigger then the one on the stock bbs wheels.

BFG 225 50 15s on MB meshx

the wheels and tires im using

yes, hub centric rings are very good to have, and you need to make sure you've removed the crush washer from the lug studs.

If the bore for the hub on the wheel is larger than the hub's bore on your car, then you're lining up the wheel with the lugs and moves it off center just a hair. It'll make your wheels feel like they're not balanced properly. You need to measure the bore of your wheel and get hubcentric rings that are the size of your bore by the size of the SRT hub, which is 57.1mm. If you have a 65mm wheel bore then you need a 65mm x 57.1mm hub ring.

^^check this crush washer. Stowaway told me to do this as I was getting the same exact problems as you, we took it off and it fixed the problem.

hubcentric rings and tuner lugs should fix the problem.

How are you tightening the lugs ? Are you tightening them by hand and let the car down than torquing them or are your torquing them when the wheel is off the ground.?

im currently having the same problem. but i took off the crush washers, i have spacers, and i have special lugs becuase regular lugs wouldnt fit. but i put the car up in the air and spun the wheels and they are all wobbling badly, then i spun them on a balancing machine and they were fine. so i put the spare tire on the car to see if the car is the problem but the spare spun perfectly straight

your spacers are whats causing your shaking. the wheel isnt sitting on the hub 100% so it is not "hub centric". same happened to me after putting on 3mm spacers up front. hit 80mph and get a lil shake.

Ok, i got the tuner lugnuts and the hub centric rings.

those rings fit so perfect.. as did the lugnuts.

wheel shakes like nuts over 50mph still.

Gonna bring wheels back to maybe get rebalanced??? idk.

anything else it could be?
