Okay, got 1/2" of snow this morning, so I'm getting concerned about the tires.
What's the cheapest winter tires I can get to use on the stock rims?

Default 195/60 on 15" steelies

Anybody tried running 195/60R15 tires?(mounted on 15" steelies) I can get a pretty good deal off someone that used them on their passat.

I'm running on these right now
- Wheels: Steel wheels form Golf MK4 (5 lug)
- Tires: KUMHO 795 Touring A/S 195/65/15

No problems. If I were you, see if you can test fit them first. IF they fit without issues and the price is right buy them.

the price is really good, i just dont' know about the overall height of the wheel/tire. I calculated it and it comes out to be about an inch shorter than the stock wheel/tire. and the difference in circumfrence is 2026mm vs. 1932... so if i am correct, my speedo will only be off by about 3mph.

IMO after driving on these you will be happy.....if the price is right and they fit, buy them. The cost of mine were $195 mounted and balanced and I sold the hub caps that came with them for $20.00 to reduce the cost even more. It took only minutes to swap after getting new lug nuts.

Well, keep us posted. My 215/55 tires cleared the rear perch just barely (we're talking probably less than a mm), but they were rubbing just slightly.

It's rough, because on the ACR there is a slight bump that hangs down from the rear perch. It was rubbing just behind the tire. I had to take off the wheel/tire to see it. It sucks that it was like that...of course...I didn't exactly pick up my ACR at the best time either...

I have the same ones and noticed the jello like driving as well. They do seem to do very well in the snow. I used the stock lug nuts and they seem to work fine.
