16" winter tires: PT alloys or VW steelies?

I know it's early, but I'm planning ahead! For winter tires (05, not ACR), I'm thinking 205-55-16 'high-performance' all-seasons. Winter in Colo. has a lot of dry warm days, and real snow tires wore out too fast on my old Daytona .

Besides, the rare times it REALLY snows here, ground clearance is an issue and an old 4x4 pickup with cheap all-seasons might do better than an SRT4 with Blizzaks! I know, my Daytona got stuck with Blizzaks and my dad came and got me out with, you guessed it, an old 4x4 pickup with cheap all-seasons.

My current 'pick' for winter rims is a set of PT 16" alloys. Those should be 'bolt on and go'. Tire O.D. for PT's is basically the same as the SRT-4,
so if I find a set with good tires on them, I'd be set.

The New Beetle 16" steelies are cheaper, though, and those use 205-55-16's
on the car as well. I can get a set of these wheels for $100 locally.

Question is: Would these be 'bolt on and go' like the PT 16's or do I need
spacers? Any other issues with the VW wheels? The PT alloys look better,
for sure. If I used the VW wheels, I'd have to find some 16" wheel covers,
because steelies with no wheel covers is too rice for me ...

IN STOCK...New 15" rims and winter tires shipped for $444-$456

How long do you keep your winter tires on? You spent $20,000.00 or so on a car for many reasons one of which is you like the way the car looks on the outside. Why would you put UGLY steel wheels on for 35%-40% of the time you own the car? Why don't you just buy an extra set of stock rims and put snow tires on them? That way your car doesn't look like a 1995 version with a giant wing!

Keep in mind the SRT4 ACR comes with smaller diameter tires. The wheels mentioned should fit, but you might want to look at a slightly smaller tire size, like 205/55R15, 195/60R15, 195/55R16 or 205/50R16. I'm 99% sure the spring seat is lower on a SRT4 ACR than a normal SRT4. I think the ACR spring seat is located at the same height as a regular Neon.

I just ordered the 15" steeles (on page one) and Hankook W404 195/65R15 (If I did my math right this is size is only 2mm shorter in diameter than stock). The rims are on back order so it may be a bit. Anyone have a review of fitament from last winter with them? How did they work out for you and as such?

- Wheels: Steel wheels form Golf MK4 (5 lug)
- Tires: KUMHO 795 Touring A/S 195/65/15

I bought these last week. Test fitted them without an issue on Saturday....will see how they work come winter.

the spring perch is same height on srt acr or non acr , if it fits non acr it will fit the acr.
The struts you have are the same as stock except for yours are tuned better and adjustable.
If they were different height perch you would have to by special lowering springs just for the acr.

Does anybody know if Kazera KZ-U 16” wheels with Blizzak 215-55/R16 LM-22 snow tires will fit? The offset is 46mm... someone had them on a 2005 eclipse. It looks like they would fit, but I just want to make sure.
