I wouldnt really go with a 225. People say that its to wide for the rim. I would stick with either a 205 or 215

Those should be fine. Like I said I had 225/45/17's with no problems on the stock wheels. Just most people say its a big no no

Thumbs up Best Snow Tire

These by far are the best snow tires I've ever used on any car including my SRT-4.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&place=9

When studded I could go anywhere in winter as long as snow/ice wasn't higher than bottom of car. They allowed me to stop on a dime too on snow or ice.

Only down side was that they're 15 inch and handle like crap. But why would you go fast anyway in winter/slippery roads. ON dry highway you can't take corners faster than 55mph since studs will act like ice on dry pavement and you'll slide off road if you go too fast.

I rather drive slower and have my car surive the winter though.

.02... still confident with my Hankook i-Pikes, just can't believe I have to put em on again - I need to move south...

From the local news:
A LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS
AFTERNOON. THE HEAVIEST SNOWS WILL BE OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE TUG HILL PLATEAU TODAY...WITH ANOTHER 3 TO 5 INCHES POSSIBLE IN THE MOST PERSISTENT BANDS. THE LAKE SNOWS SHOULD DIMINISH AS TEMPERATURES WARM DURING THE DAY.
IF YOU WILL BE DRIVING BE PREPARED FOR RAPID CHANGES IN ROAD AND
VISIBILITY CONDITIONS.

On the plus side... once the steelies/ snows are on, drivin in da snow can be hella fun (if you're not )

Ordering a set of blizzak 215/50R/17's for the stock rims. Painting the stock rims gunmetal or black, and then driving like a bitch for the next 4 1/2 months.

Default Acr Tires

This is for anyone with an ACR thats confused about buying winter wheels/tires. After a bunch of reading and testing shit, this is what Ive found...

TIRES
The following sizes are the closest to stock tire size matches and SHOULD fit without modification or strut/brake issues:

185-60-15
185-55-16
195-50-16
195-55-15
205-55-15
205-50-16

Calculated with: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Pretty much any other size is to big, and will cause rubbing becuase of the strut tower perch on the ACR suspension.

WHEELS:
For wheels your gonna want a 5lugx100 bolt battern with around a 38MM offset. Any 15/16" wheel with that bolt pattern and offset will work. Tuner lugs from your local autoparts store are recommended over re-using stock lug nuts.

PT Cruiser steelies along with most if not all 1999.5-2004 Jetta/Golf wheels have the same pattern and WILL work for the SRT-4.

I purchased a 2nd set of stock rims and had discount tire install a new all season tire by BF Goodrich. It is called G-Force Sport A/S. We had heavy rain this past week (and the temp was just at 32 degrees) and the tires were awesome. We had some ice/very light snow on the way home and again they were terrific. The KDW NT tires serve me so well during the summer (not the stock KDW2) I was willing to give these a shot. How well will they do in 4 in of snow? Probably not well. But that does not happen often here in Indiana.

Let there be no doubt that this setup fits. The proof is in the pics...

These fit on with ample space between the rim and the caliper. No rubbing no need for spacers.
I ended up with the Hankook 401's, Discount tire direct was out of the 404's. 401's have a similar tread pattern as the 404's but the sidewalls are curved for better handling on turns. At 424 for a set of 4 steelies with tires you just cant go wrong. Be sure to pick these up at Home - Discount Tire Direct while they still have stock!

just bought 4 with 195/65-15 yokohama ice guards $388.00 for all shipped.

I have like 14 stock rims laying around the house. So I decided to purchase the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 from Tire Rack. A little pricey but at least I won't have 4 more rims laying around the house.

I'm trying to set up a winter wheel/tire package on discounttiredirect.com

Will this package fit?

15 x 6.5 5 bolt 100 mm steel wheels

205/70/15 yokohama ice guards.

seems tall at roughly 26-1/2" height compared to about 25-1/4" for stock tire.
