Tire Make/Model: Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position Size: 205/50ZR-17 Wheels: Stock Mileage: 12K+ Mods: Basically stock
I bought these from Tirerack to replace the original BFG KDW 2's, hoping to find at least comparable grip with less noise. They are definitely quieter and rarely lose grip in the corners, but they will chirp a bit more than the BFGs during shifting. I don't push the car too hard - it's my every day ride - but I have a favorite curvy back road that I just have to visit now and then to let off some steam. The Pole Positions are way too squirrelly for comfort on a good launch, but I think that is at least in part just a factor of the car.
For the record, I drove the BFGs for 36K down to the cords
The Pole Position has about half the treadwear rating for about $50 more per tire, so I think that I will be changing up again before too long.

well, daily driving is nice. i cant hear road noise over my exhaust or stereo. in the rain it feels planted. its overall a great tire for normal driving
spirited/hauling ass driving- it has so much grip its not even funny. i take constant radius turns 40 mph faster than i used to (60mph before -100mph now), with absolutly zero squeel or sway. i upgraded my brakes and I was used to feeling the abs working all the time. well, now the car STOPS!! plain and simple. oh, if i launch i can turn them a bit, but if i do a small burnout prior to my launch then there is no whell spin at all. im getting used to having all this grip. my car is so much quicker. i cant wait to timed at a track when i get back to the U.S. .
i would recommend this tire to someone that has the money to spend on these, but they are over priced.
GTRadial CHAMPIRO 328-Treadwear Traction Temperature
280/ AA / A
$76.00
should note the smallest size available is 225/45/17
I bought these looking to try a new cheap tire.
I was shocked at how well they gripped and the life of the tire. I would rate tire noise at about moderate. Alot less than the stockers. Wet weather performance is on the low end but when the roads are dry they are amazing. They can be hard to find since they are a relatively new tire. I found them at Discount Tires From Cooper Tires, Falken Tires & More.
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on stock rims
Great tire in all conditions, great grip and dry, good in the snow and rain.
end result for an all season they work great in dry conditions as in i can take a 25 mph turn at 60 and not hear any squealing!
Tire Make/Model: Dunlop Direzza Sport Star Spec Z1 Tire Size: 225/45 17x7 Wheels: Arospeed RS-GT's UTQG: 200 A A 90W
I purchased 4 Dunlop Direzza Sport Star Spec Z1's 225/45 17's from Tire Rack for $583 shipped w/$50 rebate ($133 a tire), so total came out to $533 shipped.
I've ran Azenis RT615's, RE-01R, Toyo T1Rs, Nittos NT555's and none felt as good as the Z1's from the start. The ride is a lil rough but not looking for comfort, I'm looking for grip and confidence behind the wheel and these tires gave them to me. Took it up to the Ortega ( Long curvy mountain road ) and these tires from cold to hot stayed glued like being on rails.
One thing I noticed about the RT-615's is they needed warm up before good grip, but once overheated, they would slide all over the place! The Z1's are ready to go cold, and the hotter they get the stickier they are!!! I got 500+ miles on them right now and I'm amazed at the grip/handling/confidence I get from them. This is as close as you'll get to an R compund tire. Best street tire period, lets see how long they last me, here's a few pixs....
I too just got the S.Drive Yoks. They do have a sort of spongy feel during the negotiation of "stupid roads". Feels like riding on a tire of blubber rather than rubber. I got them in a fatty 215/50 for the stock wheels, hoping to upgrade to a wider 7 or 7.5" wheel to fill them out more. I just got off of my "stock" KDW's, if you can believe that, 40,000 miles... dead. No belts showing though.: Anyway... there so road quiet, its scary. No idea how they handle under hard driving, I will be taking them for the ultimate test this summer, auto-x and hard road racing. I will let you know how they perform. They are said to be really good though, one can only hope.

i have rode on these for about 2k miles to get a good feel before i wrote a review
i picked these up when my buddy said they were the same price as the Firestone Firehawk WideOvals. i knew about these for a while, and they replaced the older Bridgestone Re750s.
These are an Assymetrical tire, aimed at comfort and sport. upon first impression i noticed they handled the power my car has. they are very QUIET and tent not to squeal when pushed hard. they do decent in a straight.
what really impressed my about these, is the handling. i never knew my car could handle like this. here in sunny san diego, we have nice interchanges from freeway to freeway, so taking the turns hard is what i like. with these i was able to add about 3-6 mph in corners that i take. and they still can be pushed farther. the only thing holding it back it me.
one bad feature...they track the road. at first i thought it was my car. but a buddy with the same tires on an EVO reiterrated that they track the road.
they are an A.

Tire Make/Model: Nexen N5000
Size: 205/40ZR-17
Wheels: 17" R1 Racing (on my 95 neon)
Mileage: 10,000
Mods: 18PSI 332WHP
These tires ran great for the time that i ran then... spun a rod bearing in my 95 base so there kinda just sitting there right now... going from a 5MPH roll in first gear, i would spin up to around 50MPH and chirp thrid, but they would still dig in and go... they held very well for what i paid for them... Never really took any corners.... the '95 was a straight line car
im about to migrate these tires over to the srt4 and i will update my post.

Review: This tire replaced my Falken 615's for AutoX. Night and Day while the 615's were easy to over drive and break loose the Star Spec's just keep holding on. I have not been able to break them loose yet (and I have tried) If you are looking for a weekend worrior tire look no further than these.
