stowaway I thought you always said the Z212's weren't the best for straight line acceleration? IIRC I think you said the stock tires were better for acceleration...

out of the max and extreme performance category the z212 is one of the worst for straight line grip, but I believe that because of the sticky rubber compound it will still outgrip the KDW2 in straight line dry grip. Cornering they are better than anything else in that size, by far.
I'd say the Kumho Ecsta SPT would be the best all-around tire for an acr though. It should have better wet and dry, cornering and straight line, grip than the KDW2. I honestly had much better dry straight line grip out of the avon tech m500 than the stock KDW2s. |

I've had the Hankook z212's for about a month now on my ACR and so far it has been a much better tire than the stock KDW's. Tire noise is so much quieter. Handling wise, I don't hear these tires squeeling and giving up as early when taking the turns like the KDW's did. Handling seems much better. Straight line traction is no problem for me since my only "power adder" is SRI
so it's not like i was stressing the KDW's much either but noise and handling are much better and so is the price. I would buy another set of these. I have read that treadlife is not as good as the stock KDW's though so I will soon find out.

Stick with the Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212 on your 16x7 or go with the 17x8 set-up...
