Default Need some help on new tires!

Ok im ready for my 3rd set of tires and need some help. I didnt care to much for the stock BF's but they weren't as bad as the falken rt615's i just had. I wanna know some peoples opinion on tires. I do ALOT and i stretch that word ALOT of highway driving a day, but i also need something that will give me good traction as well. I have some power so i need something a little beefy but does good on daily driving.

i got the federal 595ss. 225/45/17. they aren't super sticky, but they do very well for cheap tires. excellent everyday driving. im pushing close to 400hp and they will hook in 2nd if its warm enough, and 3rd almost all the time.

You want something that grips well, but lasts a long time. Unfortunately those tires don't exist. If you want a better ride and long life, look at the UHPAS category of tires at TireRack. The Bridgestone Potenza RE960 Pole Position is great in that category. The RE760 is great in the 3 season UHP category. They should last you at least 30k miles given minimal spinning and a good alignment. Both of these are not cheap, but they are very VERY good quality tires.

Kuhmo SPT or Avon Tech M500? And this is the first time I've seen some one call the RT615s bad...

sounds like he puts on a lot of miles on the srt, the rt615's are not very good if you want a tire that last more than 15k miles, lol

I have rt615's right now, and I think its a great tire(235/40/17). I wanna get some cheap tires for my stock rims, so if I do a road trip, i dont rack up the miles on my falkens

I just had my new set of Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS mounted (215/50/17) and they are INCREDIBLE. I highly recommend them. I've already had the chance to drive both on dry asphalt and in the rain, and they are great for both. No road noise (of course, I just came from the unacceptably noisy stock BFGoodrich's) and sticky like you wouldn't believe. Even with traction bars and an H-brace, I had bad wheel hop with the BFGoodrich's, it's all gone now. I paid $768 shipped from TireRack. Hope this helps!
