Default How is the noise with Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 tires?

Okay, I've read the reviews above, and I still have a few questions about the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 tires. I have 28,000 miles on my SRT-4, and I have LOVED every aspect of the stock BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2, I am still using the original tires that were new on the car. I've loved every aspect of the tires, except ONE thing, the freaking noise, they are SO noisy. I have the stock rims, and I'm looking for stock size tires.

So I'm thinking about the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 tires. They are a little more costly, but it appears that right now there is a 50 dollar rebate which will help some. I'm pretty much settled on paying the extra money for these tires, and my last experience with Goodyears (Eagle HP's) was awesome, some of the best tires I ever had.

These questions are in comparison to the stock KDW's:
1) Are the Goodyears a lot quieter? This is the main question, is it worthwhile to spend the extra money to avoid that noise?
2) How is the treadwear on the Goodyears? Can I expect to get anything close to 25,000 miles or more off of them, driving the same way that I did to get 28,000 on the KDWs?

I am looking at a couple of other tires too, the BF Goodrich g-Force Sport, and the Yokohama S.drive tires. But like I said, it's probably going to be the Goodyears unless someone has some convincing comments about noise or treadwear, or something else I didn't ask about that would make me think twice about it.

noise is a LOT better

Wet traction is a lot better

Dry traction is a lot better

treadwear is the same.

I love mine and I have yet to find someone who didn't like these tires and that says a lot considering you can find a hater for just about any product out there.

Well SHITE, appears that Goodyear is not making these tires right now for some odd reason. This is unfortunate because I had decided on this tire.

Now maybe the Yokohama S Drive tires? Blah, this sucks.

Well, I ordered the Yokohama S.drive's today, they'll be installed on Saturday. Looks like I'll be doing the first review of these tires on here. I spent about an hour going through the reviews on the Tire Rack and they look pretty good.

dude the F1 GS-D3 are $156 each at tirerack plus $40 for shipping but they have a $50 rebate

$614 for these shipped to your door is an awesome deal. Too bad you missed out.

Anyway, let us know how the Yokohama tires perform

Nope, I called both Tire Rack and Discount Tire, along with more than 15 retailers in the Omaha area, no one has them, several of them called Goodyear, it was the same story.

Quote:
Goodyear is not making the tires right now, you cannot get the tires right now, if you want Goodyear has the tire molds and can make them, they will be about 250 dollars a piece though.

215/50/17 is gernerally considered a better fit. And he already ordered them.

When I get new tires it'll be the Kuhmo Ecsta SPTs again.

Noise on my set is better than the stock KDW's. The only time these tires are really noisy is when it's cold out. If the temp drops below 45 or so they get much louder. I think Goodyear actually says they aren't supposed to be driven in sub 32 degree weather.

I have about 20,000 miles on mine and am due for a new set in the next month-two months. I could have stretched the mileage on them a lot further but I like spinning the tires from time to time, lol. They do have a 280 tread rating which is pretty damn good for how sticky they are. I'll buy another set and recommend them to others.

There are no Eagle F1 GS D3's being made right now. You may be in the same boat as I was, hence why I went with the Yokohamas

According to tire rack they are in stock. The GSD3 has two different load ratings. One is 94W, the other is 91Y. The 91Y is the one you want (that's what I've been running) and is in stock. The 94W is the version that is on back order.
