Default Evo or Stowaway question?

Ok most times I just role threw the tech stickiey and get my questions answered but this is the wheel and tire combo that I think I want to go with and I need to know if it will fit. I want to role on a 16" rim and I'm pritty sure it will be a Rota slipstream. Any way I want it in a 16/8 in 35 offset thats what I think is right, now for the tire. Will a 245/50/16 fit on stock or close to it suspention(I might lower the car 1" thats it)? Whats the best combo at that size? Do I go to a 16/7.5 and a ? on tire size? I know thats a different size butits close to stock diamiter and REAL fat.

That size tire can actually safely be used on a 7" wide wheel, but going with an 8" and a 35mm offset is the best bet.

A few things I want to mention about this size tire. It's tall. It will be VERY close to hitting the lower spring perch, if it clears at all. Also, with the width, it will be close to the inner fender as well. They are also HEAVY. Most are 28-30lbs just for the tire.

I think going with the Bridgestone Potenza RE750 or Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212 in the 245/45-16 size on a 7.5" or 8" wide wheel would be the better option. Lighter, shorter, and still great tires.

Dude you rock, I was doing my research and was just trying to come out with the best that I can. I want the widest meanest looking tire that i can and get great traction.

why 16s though? There are a lot more options in the 245/40-17 size than any wide 16" size. They are more expensive, but the tires will give you better performance and there are many more wheel options as well.

The slipstream is only offered in a +48 offset for the 16x8 (its designed for the WRX). This means you'd have to use at least 5mm spacers or bigger for those wheels to clear.

Its the same deal with the 17x8 too.

The only size available for the Slipstream with the correct offset is the 16x7 +40 offset.
