if your looking for traction in 3rd gear....okay,both will give you 3rd gear traction (if youve lost it). if your looking for it in 2nd only a drag radial will do that.

I run the Dunlops and they are really sticky for a street tire.

I have both tires. The Dunlop has a softer sidewall, but it is still stiffer than nearly all other tires on the market. The Dunlop is better in the wet, but is by no means immune from hydroplaning with a little bit of standing water. The Dunlop is a little bit quieter. Dry grip and on-track performance goes to the Kumho by a recognizable margin, but for street use it won't make much of a difference.

stowaway... when you say on-track performance are you talking drags, road course or auto-x. (or all of them. )
I ask because I'm going to the track day at NJMSP again next year (6 months away or so) and want to get shoes more geared for that and other events, but don't want to spend the super uber $ it costs for REALLY dedicated racing tires.

cool, thanks.
the Z1* were $8 more/tire also so saving a little is a plus.
not that I'd bitch about $32 total for this.

I have been running the Ecsta XS all summer for events and I am really happy with them. They do like a lot of heat though.
