Red face ATTN: Anyone w/ Enkei RS7's

Ok well I did my research and found we need a 35-40mmm offset and what not. I thought I was ready top buy my rims Enkei RS7's in gunmetal w/ 225-40-18 They have a 35mm offset and are 18x7.5
So I was thinking they will fit purfect
but now I see someone who has them had to use a spacer???
WTF can someone with these rims please chime in and let me know if you needed a spacer or anything, and what size rim you have also what you needed if you did need anything besides rims and tires.
i.e. rings/spacers ect
TIA Brad

Im guessing im the guy your talking about. These guys show pictures of them on their car and they say they dont have spacers and i believe them, but mine dont fit. I put them on and they dont hit they caliper so they wont spin, they grind along the side of the caliper. If you give it a little force you can work them over the caliper but i cant see that being good. Now im even more confused as well because both these guys have 17" and i have 18" so i dont understand how theirs fit and mine dont.

Im gonna try out a small spacer and see how it works out. If i put the spacer on and they clear the caliper and i take it out and it rides smooth than im going to leave it. Unfortunatly ill only be able to tell you if it clears the caliper but i wont be able to tell you if its a smooth ride or not. I had to send one back because they sent me the wrong tire size on it and im still waiting to get it back so until i have all 4 i wont be putting them on.

YOu got it, I assume going to a 40mm offset with the 18x7.5 would clear this up but I know there are some people on here who know more about rims than I'll ever know! So hoping they can help out- thanks for the input guys I'm looking to go up to an 18 though. Can I get a couple more pics?? TIA Brad

I have em in 17x7 with a 35mm offset, no where close to needing a spacer... there is PLENTY of room between the spokes and the caliper.

I dont know about the other offsets, but 35mm will fit fine.

I'm wonderig now if the 40 or 45mm offset would be better than a 35? Since most seem to be running the 17x7 w/ a 35 upping the ante to a 7.5 might require a higher offset to fit correctly?? I don't know much of anything about offset so any ideas?? I really want them in 18s and I need to order soon

Maybe because yours is 7.5" in width. These guys that are showing pics have 17x7.

I PM'ed EVO (resident wheel GOD) and he assured me that the 18x7.5 w/ a 35mm offset would fit w/o any spacers- so unless someone knows more than him I'm going to order these this week.

I have been pimpin my rs7 since I bought the car, the duche that had the car before me beat the shi* out of the bfg's so i had the rs7 from my other car (a 03 cavalier). I called the place that I bought them from and the guy was kinda hesatant at first, he said it would be close but they should fit he offered to test fit them but I didn't want to bring them to him so they can test 1 rim. I took the front driver rim off and tested the rs7 and i thought at first they weren't gonna clear the pad bracket but they cleared at after I put the lugs on all 5 studs. I really don't like the rims on my silver car but it grows on me.

I had a similar problem with one rim, but I had a problem....

Last winter (around november) after the first snow, my father was stock home with his SS on summer tires, so he took my car (still with the KDWs on). He hit the sidewalk with the front right rim. I had the rim refurbish and had nothing else (so I tought).

After 6 months my right brake was starting to use unequally. We didn't knew why (got 2 new disk from dodge )... When I received my RS7, they all fit perfectly except for the front left. I had my galiper grinded to fit.

A couple of months after my brake started to used unqually again ! So I had this check and they found that the piece that old the bolts together (can't remember how it's called) was bent a little bit (it was bent 1mm on one side).

Don't know if this little story help....
