in dry weather, these tires are probably the best out there, ive had them 2wice and they are great for dry handling and dry traction. just watch out when it rains

they were able to pull off the tirerack record for holding i think 1.16G's of lateral force, but if you want a tire that will hook up amazingly go with 2 BFG T/A drag radials, they wont break lose on 1000+HP supras so they will hook up on our cars

I already have BFG drag radials, but those are for the track only with my car.

The KD's can be scary in the wet, from what I hear.

I just ordered a set of 235/35/18 KDW-2's. These have good wet handling as well as great dry handling. Tirerack.com has buyer reviews on every product, check it out. Lots of SRT-4 reveiws on there too.

Lake Effect Racing used them this year to win the One Lap of America competition against evos and stis. I'd say they are pretty good. If I were looking for the ultimate dry tire that will still be safe in the wet I'd run Falken Azenis ST-615. Grassroots Motorsports tested them as the fastest street tire available, faster than the old 215 which was faster than the kd.

I used to run falken azenis on my 89 gti for solo 2 racing, they were nothing short of amazing. I was thinking about getting the r615's but they don't have the 215/45/17 out yet and I'm going to need tires soon.

so I guess you are still on the stock wheels? I'd try to wait for the 615s to be available. Call discount tire direct and see what time frame they have heard from falken on the tires being available.

Yeah I'm still on the stock wheels, I'll give discount tire a call and see if they know anything. There was a person here on the forums running the 225/45/17 r615's on the stock wheels, just doesn't seem safe to me.

yeah, I wouldn't do that because the tread was pushed out well past the lip of the wheel, just can't have great steering responce and stability like that.
