Default Advice for super lightweight 18s.

Its about time to finally put some new rims on my SRT.

I want to go with 18s.

I want to keep the overall OD of the tire stock so I don't have to worry about the speedometer and all that good stuff.

I want to reduce the weight on the corners.

I don't really want to go too wide(8 would be nice).

My knowledge of the rim and tire world isn't that extensive so any help would be amazing thanks all!

I run 18x8's with 225/40/18's. That tire is almost identical in height to the stock 205/50/17s.

As far as keeping the wheel/tire combination the same diameter as stock, this is a great website to visit - Tire size calculator

The site allows you to put in the stock diameter and then compare to 18 tire sizes to see the difference.

As far as weight, the lighter you want to go, usually, the more money. Just remember that although the stock wheels were heavy for their size, you are jumping up to a much bigger size if you go 18x8 so expect that the wheels will be about the same weight, or if lighter, probably won't be by much unless you want to spend the really big bucks or find a great deal. You can use WHEELWEIGHTS.NET to see the weights of a huge number of wheels.

I am a "constant" shopper and the best deal on new wheels I have seen recently is Tire Rack has Kosei K3's in 5x100, 18x7.5 size, 35mm offset for $149 a piece. Kosei's are a pretty decent set of wheels and these weigh 18.5 lbs a piece. Will hold a 235 tire so get a decent amount of tread.

I personally thought that if i ever bought a set of wheels for my car, Id go with 18" RPF1's....everyone seems to pick up the 17's...I have yet to see an srt with 18" RPF1's in silver.

Thanks all.

I read the basics.

Some of those super lightweight rims cost ALOT. What sucks is that not all the rims come in black.

Again thanks all!

Wow those are nice. I might have to look in to those and they come in Gold as well
