Default 235 tire width ... go with 40 or 45 high ??

In other words, when choosing between these two, which is correct for a 7.5" rim on a SRT-4 ?

235/40R17 or 235/45R17 ? One is 1/2" taller than what I am now using, and one is 1/2" shorter.

Thank you

Thank you everyone. I'm going with the 45, as it throws the speedo off by almost 2mph less than the 40 will, and offset isn't an issue.

How exactly is a 40 series tire wider than a 45 series tire? Just curious!

It was kinda vague...
I prefer the lower profile cause it makes the tire look wider. It's like comparing a 235/40/20 on 20x8 rim to a 235/40/17 on a 17x8 rim. It's the same width, but with the lower height it "looks" wider...
...just me though...

this is an easy one. the 235/40 can not be safely used on a 7.5" wide wheel.
