ive been running the 215-45-17 nitto neo gens(on stock rims) for the last 7 months,(i know someone asked about them) now all 4 (rotated 5 times) are down to 2/32nds of tread... they look awsome, fit the wheel ok.. fronts kinda look flat. they were extremly sticky at first, would hold 2nd gear with 20lbs of boost, they quickly wore, now are slick as snot, have raced the shit out of them. id buy them again but they jacked the price., like 35$ a tire more.. not worth it. always working a budget, was really wanting the 225-45-17 bfg kdw-2 (like stock) but at 140$/tire... its to rich for my blood, i could not make it to work today in 8 inches of snow, so the neo's must go! im thinking now of getting the kumho escta AST. Kumho Ecsta AST at nearly half the price of the bfg's its hard to pass up.. i heard that the kumho's run small in sec width, and i believe that to be true.. so i think im going with the 225/45 on stockers, upset at the 24lb each... but im hoping that the extra section width will make up for it.. i wish tirerack sold nitto, id love to get specs on my neo gems.. weight and sec width.. for a comparison. also to add, PICS would be killer!!! im sure everyone would love a close up of the 225-45 fitting a stocker.. i know i would. id give pics of my 215/45... but snow here in belleville il is very bad right now.

Ok I purchased my srt4 back in December of last year, Il admit I was a nub and wasnt paying to close attention to the tires I had. Come to find out when I need to get new ones I have 225/45/17 on stock wheels.
Now I havent had much problems with it but then again in Riverside, CA there isnt much crazy driving to do. So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions whether to stick with the 225's or something smaller?? I do have a little one and reading about how a blowout can and is possible I do want something a little safer.
i run 215/45/17 since i switched my first set of tires. never had any problems. i want the staggered look for the rear so i was thinking of going 225/45/17 in rear and 215/45's in front. i know they aren't supposed to fit 17x6 wheels but would i be atleast a little safer by only running them in the rears? vs front where all the weight is in a high speed turn?
On a 17x8 wheel what would you guys recommend 225/45/17 or 235/45/17?
245/40/17 fit fine
