Speeder Clocked at 150mph - SRT Forums

Anyone in the DFW area know who this is?

GRAPEVINE, Texas - Grapevine police arrested a man for allegedly speeding at two and a half times the posted speed limit early Friday morning.

Police say Isamel Esparza, 37, was hauling down Highway 114 near DFW Airport when he passed an officer. The posted speed limit is 60 mph.

The officer says Esparza's 2008 Buick Enclave was going so fast, it took him nearly six miles to catch up.

The speed on the officer's dash-mounted camera showed the officer's car going up to 150 miles per hour during the chase.

Esparza eventually pulled over and apologized for going so fast.

He was arrested around 3 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence. Esparza was jailed in lieu of $1,000 bond on Friday afternoon.

that seems a bit unusual. It's hard for SRT-4's to push 150.

that was the speed of the officer's car.
no fucking way an enclave was going that fast.

direct injection 3.8l v6? not too too hard to believe. my landlord had an 09 enclave. i drove it to the dealer once. it was almost as fast as a stock srt4 neon. 150 though i'm not sure about. i think they are governed at like 135 or so.

The best part is he was going that fast drunk. Too bad he didnt eat a tree. Glad nobody got hurt, Hope he does it again and has a blowout.

i hope he dont do it again. what if he does get a blow out then crashes into a mini van filled with nuns.

so let's assume he was topped out and we'll call it a nice rounded 110.
cop sees him go by. decides to pull out on him. gets up to speed.. let's call it 130 to start with.
let's say it takes a total of 45 seconds for the cop gets up to 130 from when the guy blows by him.
we'll also forego the nasty integral math for a bit and assume the distance between the cop and the buick after the cop has gotten to 130mph is 1 mile.
let's now assume the actual distance for him to catch the guy is exactly 6 miles total chase distance.

the cop would need to maintain a constant speed of 132mph after that first mile to catch the buick in a distance of 5 miles, for a total chase distance of 6 miles, and the total time of chase after reaching the minimum 132mph speed was 2.725 minutes.

based on this rough workover I'd say the buick's top speed was probably no more than the 110mph and that the cop only needed to to 150mph for a short time once he realized hey, I'm not catching this guy all that quick.
