Default Maintaining Boost when Shifting?

Maybe it's because I'm a bad driver, but lets say I'm in first and floor it, and then when I shift into 2nd it seems like I lose a lot of power and start 2nd gear at 5-6 psi and rising. When I was in my friend netou's car it seemed like he held boost even while shifting? Is there somethign I'm doing wrong or a technique to maintain the boost after shifting?

WOT BABY........ I do know with the stages 2 and 3 you can hold boost while shifting wide open, but you are going to lose boost while shifting because the bov is removing the backpressure from the turbo. when you lose your boost the componets of the turbo are doing its job. but with the staged psm you can hold it if you can shift fast enough. is that right guys

Correct except that Netou does not have a staged pcm he has stock. He is just that good. You cannot compare ur driving to Netous.

But yea its called
WideOpenThrottle Shifting a.k.a. Power Shifting.

You do not need a WOT box at all. You can either WOT shift or just practice shifting. If you shift fast enough it will hold boost.

Oh my fukin god...!

Do not listen to the noobs on top, please!

In order for you not to loose boost when shifting, you WOT(wide open throttle) Shift. You hold the gas pedal to the floor while you rapidly engage the clutch and shift as quickly as possible without repleasing the gas pedal. It takes pratice, but if done right...you can beat cars with 40+more hp by a car or more....right Kerr?! But, you run the risk of damaging your syncros if done incorrect. You do not need a "WOT BOX" or a staged pcm...what I do recommend is a WasteGate. The stock WGA is weak sauce.

^^ No you fail, and I've read nothing that deserves a lol.

True if you shift right you won't lose much, but why do that when you can WOT and keep all the boost and lose maybe a couple psi and not ALL.

Stage 2/3 pcm(I don't remember if stage 1 is or not) ARE caliabrated for WOT SHIFTING.
Try reading up on ur car it says it somewhere on this website I would link it but I'm on my phone... Mopar - Original Equipment Parts and Accessories <-- check it out MR.Failure now roll wit that.

Yes a WOT box will be safier and help you with WOT but you don't need it. You can get some balls and skills and save ur money.

But the WOT is great insurance. Needed for some laughed at by others
