How many of our country's problems could be solved – and solved quickly – if politicians were more worried about what is good for our country rather than how to protect their positions of power?

I guess I don't understand your point. I'm simply saying that in realation to say california, texas doesn't have that many decent roadcourses.
Have patience guys! I saw plans and permit requests for a road course out in Mineral Wells(west of Fort Worth). There's also supposed to be another road course track being built in far North Dallas.
But as it is right now, we've got Texas Motor Speedway, Texas World Speedway, and Motor Sport Ranch. And if you don't mind driving a little to get to other roadcourses, you can go to Hallett in Oklahoma(my "home" track) or No Problem Raceway in Louisiana(OWNED).

Have you ran motorsport ranch before? My understanding is that it's pretty exspensive I usually run with "the drivers edge" at texas world speedway and thats only 100 bucks.

Yes, MSR is expensive, unless you get in good with a local car club that rents it out(BMW, Porsche, ect.). Then it's not too bad, but still a bit more expensive than other tracks.
I've ridden as passenger at MSR a couple of times, but have yet to drive on it.

Hopefully, the Houston Super Speedway will get done soon(the site said that it has been ok'ed for development). Then there will be 4 road courses in Texas and hopefully they will have a dragstrip too. It would be so awesome to have that facility only 10 minutes from home!! Though I will probably be waiting still in 2008.

MSR is a great track to run but I doubt it's much fun to race on. It's way too narrow in the "rattlesnake" section and elsewhere.
TMS is alright - pretty straightforward.
TWS 1.8 CCW (normal) is pretty lame, IMO. TWS 1.8 CW is more fun and the 2.9 mile course (using the track sureface outside the oval) is GREAT.
I'd be amazed if the Mineral Wells thing comes together, but we'll see. There was also a "Gunterring" in the works north of Dallas but I think that fell thru.
Hallett is a BLAST and everyone who can afford a change of tires AND brakes should make it up there sometime.
