I got one a while back, and it's classified as "Defective Equipment" $75 ticket. Just pay it and be done with it.

I was also wondering what the fine was gonna be be ^^^ ur saying 75$ but ive heared $250+ from a few folks.
I dont think there gonna ask for 'proof' that a complient exhaust is on the car, because when I first got my car more than three years ago, I got a tickert for no front plate and the judge didnt ask for proof.
...and the location where this took place was SE Military and Goliad
how that sucks....i drove by an HPD officer under a freeway bridge checking people for expired stickers and i have 3" pipe all the way back and he didn't seem to mind.
i guess some cops are just straight dicks when it comes to things like that.....take a picture of your friends undercarriage and tell him you've replaced it with your factory stuff....you should be able to get the ticket dismissed.
Does anyone have the diagram for the srt4 exhaust, showing it doesnt come with mufflers?
I got my diagram from the dealership when i fought my ticket here in seabrook. But ill look in my factory service manual for you tonight when i get off work. Also search through the D.O.T for texas for the law that says turbos are considered mufflers under D.O.T thats how i fought mine and one they was pissed. But it all depends on how the ticket is worded mine said just no mufflers,but they tried to turn it around when i was fighting so you have to watch them.

Lol, that sucks. Guarantee my exhaust is louder, and the only time I've ever spoken to cops about it was when people on my street called them on me, and they just bullshitted and talked cars with me for a bit.
According with a local officer I talked to with a friend who got a "loud exhaust" ticket in his v6 Mustang, they have to have a decibel meter to give you a ticket like that if you have a full exhaust system.

On the ticket he wrote 'uness. noise (exhaust)'. He didnt have no decible meter at all. He said if they can hear your exhaust from 50ft away in their car then its too loud.
Thats a good thing to bring up, PM me the diagram when you have time.
What I think he heard is was when I was coming down hill and I left it in 4th and just cruised to a stop at a red light (all the poping from the exhaust caught his attention iam sure) ...and also the fact that I still have my Tn. license plate.
-and as he pulled me over, a LOUD ass GT mustang and Harleys past by.
