hey guys I currently live in illinois but visiting fort worth (North Richland Hills) this week. I'm looking to move down here in the next year. I've noticed something that I'm curious about and thats the emissions stickers. I currently have the AGP stage 4 kit GT3076R, exhaust depot TBE NO CAT NO RES. how strict are the tests? How do u guys get around it? Thanx for the help.
We don't have to do the running dyno, but hooking into the ECM is part of the test... as long as you don't have any codes & the emissions tech is kinda lax on the visual (cat is tucked up way under there afterall) passing shouldn't be a huge ordeal.
Im in Harris county, and I was told I cant pass because of no cat.
From what Ive been told, surrounding counties only do the safety inspection, and emissions isnt a problem there.
Lulz.
I should have *2* cats, and I have none. And all I have is race bullets. About to get it inspected for the second time with this exhaust system. And that's without knowing anybody, paying anything extra, etc. If your car's low to the ground, go somewhere with older people working, because unless they have a lift chances are they aren't going to go through the pain in the ass it is to get down on their knees and look under the car.

not really supposed to lift cars to inspect them....when i was still inspecting i just assumed if there was no cat the car would have a cel...ive passed a local with stage 2 and stage 2 with toys both cars had no cat and they passed with flying colors
my car wouldnt pass obd so i just leave it unhooked tell the computer its plugged in then it kicked it to the dyno......at cruising even a stage 3 car should be emissions friendly

Hmm, maybe I should try a few more places before getting a cat. I am on sportlines, so its fairly low. And I have stage 1, so no code is being thrown. I went to the place I did because another local went there and said they dont even visually check.
