Default AVOID Goodson Dodge Service...

If you can. Man, do they ever suck. I was warned, but I didn't listen.

I installed my coilovers last week as many of you have heard. I needed
an alignment pretty bad, as there were wheels all over place... one this
way, one that way. It was bad.

So I decided to take it over to Goodson Dodge, since they are about 4
minutes from my house. Wow, was that a mistake.

I roll up in the service drive, and talk with a service manager or whatever
the hell they are called.
~Hey, I need an alignment.
-Okay... $99.99.
~Shit! Is that a lifetime alignment?
-Nope.

So I start explaining to the service guy or whatever, that I want 1.5 neg
camber in the front, and .5 neg in the rear. He kinda looks at me like a dog
when you whistle at it... you know, that head to the side kinda thing?
So he calls the tech out. This guy comes out, and I start explaining what
I am looking to accomplish.

~I am looking for 1.5 neg camber on the fronts and .5 neg on the rear.
- Why is it all out of alignment?
~I just installed Mopar Performance Stage 3 coilovers.
- Aftermarket shit? You gonna need a camber kit fo that.
~Actually, they are slotted for camber adjustment. I think they should be fine.
- I ain't working on no aftermarket shit today.
~This is genuine Mopar stuff.
- I don't care, I ain't got time today. Bring it back Monday and we'll take a
look at it and see if we can even do it.
~Uh... uh... okay... good deal. Tell you what, I'll see you Monday then!!

I got the hell out of there quick. Went over to a Firestone store, explained
what I wanted, they knocked it out without complaint and I got the
LIFETIME WARRANTY on it for $139.00.

Heh... Goodson Dodge. Very comical. Very inept. Very fucking weak.

Firestone was going to do it for $69, but I opted for the Lifetime Warranty.
Very worth it in my book. Guy even told me... bring it in every 10,000 miles
whether you think it needs it or not.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't the money, it was the attitude, and complete
lack of professionalism and adversity to their VERY OWN PARTS!!! Very sad.

That's really horrible. I would call the owner of that dealership and let him know. The owners always want to know that kind of stuff, seriously. I would like to know how he responds to it. That is just depressing.

Dude that sucks!!!! That is were I got my car and they seemed to bend over backwards to get the deal. But then it was a new salesman. I'll remember that when it comes time for service.

I'd get it check every 6000 miles Wade, that's what we suggest over here at my Firestone.

Nah, I am sure Rocky McCullough really wouldn't care about my plight to get
my car serviced. He is a 5-star dealer!!

Goodson dodge does suck, I had to go there 3 f***** times to fix a small problem with the coolant, and a a small problem with the ac vents not recirculating the air. The third time they apologized and told me that they are crazy, and i am not. I guess they thought that i am an idiot or something. It took 2 service advisors, one idiot mechanic that thought he knows it all, and one test drive with a brand new SRT4 since they did not belive me. The service advisors working there are a bunch of idiots, and their mechanics, well i am sorry to say, but they are the most stupid, people i have seen. I dont think there is a dealer these days that has competent mechanics that know whata hell they are doing.

I have to agree with you there. It is very hard to find a competent mechanic
now a days. I got lucky and found a guy RIGHT HERE on the boards who was
able to help me out with the axle problem I had a couple of months back. Had
I not felt like I was bothering him, I would have taken it over there for an
alignment. All in all, I am glad things worked out like they did. I was very
happy with the service I got from Firestone.

the manufact. are making it hard for them to have good mechanics. everything has to be approved by dcx before it is done. if a mech tries to diagnose a problem and it is not approved, they do not get paid from warranty. does not help that for some reason society seems to look down on mechanics. when i was in high school i wanted to take auto shop - they wouldn't let me... my grades were too high. i think would have been a good mech (i used to do alot of my own shit... now i have no time) AND i would have been able to talk to a customer

Shit, the concensus around these parts is... finding a good mechanic is like finding a
good doctor or dentist. If you find a good one, you sure as hell better stick with him.
