I ran into a white c5 with a full roll cage, exhaust, zo6 rims with tires that were humungous, red swaybars, window tint and I'm assuming a lot of under hood work. It was a younger(25-30 white guy) and the car was a targa. We ran from a 40ish roll and since he jumped the gun, got a half car on me until I missed 4th and let off. Definitely a quick car...Mad props but wouldn't tell me his mods. This happened in the back of the woodlands(past sterling ridge) but he went past the walmart towards 1488...Anybody know this guy, and or what he might have done?
Seen the guy before. Don't know what all he has done, but I know he's got a lot more than he used on you. I'm almost positive he needs the cage to run the times he does at HRP, if that tells you anything.
Sounds like Craig to me. If it is him, the cage is actually for auto-cross - he frequents Texas World Speedway a lot. He does not have too much done motor wise, stock bore/stroke a 220/220 cam, mildly ported 853 heads, LS6 intake and full exhaust.
lol yeah, that is good enough for low 12's on a C5 definitely, maybe even high 11's with some traction and a good 60ft. Good run for sure if he got the jump and you right there with him!

I wish I hadn't miss-shifted 4th though...then it would have been a much better run.

Wow, somebody else on this site that knows something about LS1s

Those mods should be good for close to 400whp.
I know a thing or two about the LSX based motors. Not too much, but I learn everyday. I'm building an LQ4 right now for my truck. Just spec'd out a cam from Thunder Racing and my 243's should be in sometime this week. Going to have them milled .020" to bump up compression some. The LQ4's unfortunately have dished pistons vs. the LQ9 and LS2 so I have to compensate for that.
Oh, and props to Mannyking for letting me use his garage for a storage for all my parts.

Heh. I know a good bit, but still have PLENTY more to learn. Me and a friend just rebuilt his LS1 out of a 2000 z28, unfortunately he tightened a connecting rod bolt too much and spun a rod bearing, so the motor's at a machine shop right now. Don't know all that much about the LQ motors, except that the LQ9 has some pretty ungodly flowing parts for a stock motor. Should be camming my GTO soon...something in the low 240s duration wise and somewhere around .615" lift @ .050 probably on a 112 LSA. Should be good for around 420whp.
