tubular manifolds provide more hp. but some have been known to crack or break at the welds. other than that the only thing you can look at is the turbo application or the components making up the kit. APG offers different turbo's you can chose from. of course differences in supporting mods will be required with the AMS or AGP kits. for the GT35 you will probably wanna to standalone to raise the rev limiter.

so extreme car = AMS
daily drive with the option to go extreme later = AGP

depends on what you wanna do.

GT35r isnt a logical turbo to buy for our cars in my opinion unless you want to shell out a couple grand for engine management and a bit more for internal building so you can raise your rev limit

sure they say a car made 580+ whp with a piggyback but 1k rpm worth of real power is dookie for street/strip use.

I would only consider buying that turbo kit unless i had/will have a fully built bottom end, ported and built head, and at least a mild shot of nitrous to spool it up. so then ill have a useable powerband

big numbers are nice and all but i prefer usable numbers

first srt-4 in the 10s had what? 400whp with like a 75 shot of nitrous? and then you hear of these guys/gals that have over 600whp that cant even pull a 10 second pass at the track.. granted driver mod as some to do with it but when you shift and have to wait a couple hundred rpm to build full spool again you are wasting your time imo

USEABLE POWER>some big number
perfect example.. next time you see a 900hp supra ask him if he wants to run from a dig.

This true, that turbo is useless unless your standalone in my opinion and have everything rebuilt the most you could possibly rev our engines to is relatively 7500 if you lucky maybe a little more due to our short stroke in the engine. but youve got to fully port the head have a bad ass set of solid lifters because hydraulic lifters will just colapse under those high of pressures, titatnium retainers and maybe a set of titanium valve springs.

This is my opinion. AGP Turbo is proven on the SRT-4, way cheaper and gives all the power you'll ever need. Getting that much power(AMS Turbo kit) on a FWD is just wasting money, and ALOT of it. Four grand and that does not even include any type of fuel or tuning??? I think it's crazy for a FWD car.

Its not that its a FWD car. what we are saying here is that in order to successfully use that setup you are going to need alot more money into it

yea, i was planning stock motor with a 50 trim until I hooked up with AMS, and then did a full motor build/cams and everything.

Turbo lag really isn't too hateful on this setup though. 10psi put me door to door on a camm'ed ls-1 a few nights ago lol, and I spool faster then lou's 50 trim, though in his defense, he has a leak at the wastegate

Here is an example from my personal experience:

Completely built motor, DTEC w/great tune, 20 psi, 93oct pump gas, gt3076r log manifold, mild porting.

VS.

Stock motor, DTEC w/good tune, 21 psi, 94oct pump gas, gt35r log manifold, no porting.

I was in the 3076r powered car for a 40-150mph highway pull. 35r raped 3076r by 6+ cars.
