Dayummm....that is very promising to hear. I just hit 92k and mine is running strong.

yeah these engines are tuff and can LAST.... with decent maintenance I could see lots of these cars still rollin around with 200+k. Even with the usual every other week end beat down we put on them at the track or on the street.

Problem is lots of kids get there hands on them and start hacking them to shit... Then stop and decide to part it out, half ass it back together and sell it off to some one with a shit ton of issues. Any car that is but through severe abuse is going to have advance wear issues.....owners of srt4's know how to abuse a car lol.

This is precisely the problem, I helped a guy who just bought his, looked over the car, and here is what I found:

No rear sway bar
The word "Fuck" rattle canned on the underside of the car
He had kicker, but the previous owner jacked the 6 disk
switches that were hooked up to nothing
vacuum lines blocked with nails and a socket
Injector harness that appears to be soldered by Stevie Wonder
And more

And I hear about stuff like this all the time.

I'm lucky, the only mods mine had when I bought it, were dealer installed.

I bought mine with zero mods NOTHING was done to it but a pep boys shift knob. I purposely looked for one in a small city. Found it with 37k on the odometer for 9k in La grange Texas... Sales man said it belonged to a guy who had a big ass ranch out there...Kinda explains why I found so many old dead crickets in the trunk. lol

but yeah I bet it will be really hard to find a nice condition srt4 neon in the next 3-5 years. I bet about half of these cars are sitting in junk yards tore in half with blood stained "viper" seats.

I agree with both you guys. I originally purchased my SRT-4 brand spanking new on 10/23/03 when the 04's in Electric Blue just came out. I was the first in New Jersey with the blue one.

I still have it now and have 92k miles on it and all the mods have been done by me since I'm the only owner. If you start to part the car out it ends up running like shit. I'm selling mine and keep all the mods on it so the next person can build off of that and not have to spend much $$$ modifying it. All it needs is an upgraded turbo and fuel system and woo hoo 400hp here we come!!!

I will miss it once its gone cause I have had several good times in it and whooped a lot of ass!

Advice:
Don't buy an SRT-4 that has been parted out.
