What downsides will these have for a daily driver? ie, harder shifting, grinding, etc? What fluids will these be or not be compatible with?
No downsides here that we have seen Nemiro. The gearchanges are like stock with the OEM synchro springs installed and a bit crisper with the DCR springs. I have these in 2 test transmissions now, one is filled with MOPAR ATF+4 and the other with Mobil 1 high mileage motor oil, so far they are both working great. Roughly 6 months now on each of them. I am going to check with the manufacturer tomorrow though and let you all know what fluid they reccomend as well.

Dave, so am I understanding this right? 3, 4, 5, and R all use the same synchro? If not and I say "put me down for two sets" then how do you know if I want 2 sets of 3/4 or 2 sets of 5/R or one of each?

There are three syncros: 1/2, 3/4, 5/r. Are the blocker rings actual OEM pieces or are they being custom made? Are there any modifications to the blocker rings other than the carbon pad? Why a 5/r set before a 1/2 set?

These are basically just tougher synchros right?
I'm not having any shifting problems, but for the price I'm in for a 3/4/5/r set. Just give me until the weekend to send payment (waiting for my bank to tell me my account is safe before using it again.....fucking scandalous Europeans...) |
