Default xtec passenger side HID not turning on..

Anyone had this problem yet? ANyone know how to get to the fuse in the ballast? When I turn on my headlights I get a BZZZZ sound from the engine bay and then only the driver's side turns on.

Any help is much appreciated, as I feel like a tool driving around with one headlight .. and at this rate, who knows when the drivers side will fail? I've only had them in since wednesday (today is sunday).

No one needs to worry, I have a feeling there is a problem with a connection somewhere, either inside the ballast or between the ballast/power/bulb

However at the moment the ballast is working again for you correct? if there is any future problems please let me know as we can get it replaced.

Yeah, the passenger side is working again.. for now. I spent a few hours last night fiddling with things. All my connections looked fine every time I had them hooked up. First, I checked all connections, leaving ballast and bulb mounted, everything looked fine but the bulb would not ignite/turn on. Then I removed the bulb from housing and ballast from mount point (on inside of fender in the engine bay), reconnected everything as it lay across my engine bay.. and the bulb then lit. So I slowly put everything back, checking to see if the bulb lit as I went. I got the bulb back in the housing and the ballast tucked back in and the bulb lit. Tucked away the wiring for a final time, tested again: bulb does not light. At this point I was getting frustrated. Took everything out again, bulb lit. Put everything back, bulb lit! So.. it is currently working (at least last time I tried it last night).

I am not worried about getting a replacement, as Devin has been awesome about responding to me quickly. It is just that the company is located in Cali and that's 7 days shipping one way.. so if I have to send anything to them it's a minimum of 2 weeks I will go hobbling on one headlight (and maybe the other halogen). i'm used to screwing with the passenger side so it's not a huge deal taking it in and out.. the driver side is another story, as I have to remove the entire headlight housing to get to the bulb/ballast. I continually pray for that one's longevity.

Hmmm, I have a sneaking suspicion that there is a lose connection somewhere might not be visible, might be in some of the connections from the ballast to the bulb, or from the ballast to the stock harness. As it comes on and off when you fool with it leads me to believe, you might have made a secure enough connection now, might never turn off again, but if it does please let me know, and we will try to get you a replacement ASAP

Yeah that was all pretty obvious to me from the beginning.. Belts+pulleys+dangling wire = bad

So far so good.. I haven't had the passenger side go out on me since I last installed. Hoping things continue to give me good luck from here out.

Yeah wires and belts do not mix well lol,

but I think your problem was a lose connection, I know we had a few ballasts that had bad caps in them and needed to be replaced

But that should not happen ever again

often times, it's best to email the vendor xtec_hid@rogers.com

For those of you with issues, the ballasts have been identified and are being shipped back right away. No one is ignored, but we do have a large amount of shipments to handle for our retailers.

Please do give your retailer a chance to make things right for you, they work hard for you and the product is truly as good as anything out there.
