Default Wiring question for the lighting whiz's

I was installing the ebay mirrors and trying to wire the turn signals. I tapped the signal right under the steering column (the green wire with red stripe for left signal and brown wire with red stripe for right) The blinkers work fine but they turn on when i hit the brakes too. I there anyway around this Id rather not have the blue lights come on when im on the brakes when there are cops around.

Because Brown-red and Darkgreen-red are wrong wires. Colors you posted are rear turn-brake light.
Should have use:
Left front = Lightgreen-orange stripe
Right front = Tan-red strip
