Default Window switch LED's

well i took a stab at putting LED's in my driver side window switches, and its a PITA, but as i was doing it i figured out another way of going about doing it. i figure that you can solder 2 pieces of wire on the terms. inside the switch itself and run those out, then make all your solder joints up on the outdside and then run one LED into each switch, seems easy enough.

Im going to try that route this weekend im taking a break from it right now since it took my long enough to screw up and realize that there is an easier way..Well if anyone has done this besides Dj-anakin let me know of some suggestions of how you did yours.

what size led's are you using? i gave it shot with some 5mm but i really didnt see a way for em to fit in there...i was gonna try some 3mm's but not sure if they would work right. with 3mm you should have plenty of room

im using 5mm, but im thinking if you have a hole oe slot to run the LED back in you can bend it and angle it up at the switch for the light to come through, so that way its under the switch "clicker" and out of the way thats how i put it in there the first time but its was too junky the way i was going about it the first time

Default just get older switches

You guys are doing way too much work. Just go to your local yard or if you muct have new switches, your local Chrysler dealer and get switches out of a 2000-2002. Pretty sure 2002 was the last year all the various switches had the LED's inside.

that would work but the main problem is the wiring harness doesnt supply power for leds in the other switches...so youd have to hack out the harness and splice it into the other one....just as much if not more work

it was a failure, i got everything wired up and working correctly soldered to teh switch, and everything is soo small that i burnt up something when i plugged it in to see my results i think that the lead off the LED touched the power terms even though i was taped up its so small inside the switch that it pinched a hole in the tape, i dont see how Dj-anakin got his to work correctly in that small of a space i even broke out the dremel and went attacking the plastic to make room for everything to fit right and still no go

just get a few of them little lamp thingers with and LED at the end. stick the fibers up into the switch LED on the bottom? wouldn't that work? or i assume it would work.
