Default Will these bulbs work for gauges??

Hey all I have dont the blue led's in my cluster and interior lights already but would like something a bit brighter
I know for reef tanks people hav been using 3 and 5 watt led's and they are intense to say the least
well I found these 1 watt led's for the car and wondered if they would work
I mean they are a 194 base just like our so I assume they would
And they have a 120 deg viewing angle which is nice

WLED-xLX 1Watt LED Wedge Base bulb
12 Volt Wedge Base bulb (194/168 type)
With 1Watt High Power LED - 120 degree Viewing angle
THIS IS OUR BRIGHTEST Miniature Wedge base bulb
Non-Polarized bulb, Select LED Color

They're too big and cause major hot spots. A neon owner used them and they didn't clear...so he went one or two leds smaller and got it to clear but the hotspots were unbearable.

Click the link in my sig, try those bulbs I love mine.

The ones you are currently using are the same ones I am I just need to replace a couple or just redo the connection cause a few came loose I believe
I really just wanted something brighter but didnt want hot spots
I wonder if I can make some sort of shield like the headlights use to avoid the hots spots and still achieve brighter gauges
I figured the second ones I posted may be to large but thought for sure the first ones may work
They also make 5 watt led's but they need to br run off of a driver of sorts and get very hot so those wouldnt be useful at all

I also really likes nates gauges when I went up to hang out with him a few years back
they were bright as hell

I think he used the 5 led led's in his he said

Someone used the flexible light strips and wired them into the circuit board....bright as hell and no hot spots.

I can try to find pictures of his gauges with those bulbs in them. Here's the led strips:

Hmmm I didnt even think about doing that
that would actualy be pretty simple and I dont think you would even have to take the needles off of the gauges
I hate taking the needles off cause no matter how hard you try they are never exactly the same afterwards

No you wouldn't...you just pull the whole cluster apart and unbolt it. The needles stay firmly planted And with my 5WLEDs a few fell out because of vibration over time...most notably the center ones.....
